I don't want to see a female in this kind of body armor.... because whats the point of having a female if you even cant tell that by looking at her........

I don't know... It would be kind of cool to have one or two missions in terminator armour. Fighting tanks in more open areas where you need armour and firepower to match the enemy or something.
A armour that made people get Shepards gender wrong would be kind of funny actualy: "The chest looks like this for practical reasons! I'm a guy! I am a GUY!"

Miranda's 'armour'? Yes. Shepard's armour or that of any other female soldier? Not really.

They should have brought up a sister of battle as an example instead of a standard marine. Oh well. ^_^

It feels more like the real world,
if futurized. So when you have characters walking around in vacuum space
with their cleavage hanging out, yes, you notice it more.

yep, I guess that could be it... specially Samara and Miranda... if I could only grab a knife and cut off those damn heels, would make me feel a lot better...

To the OP (if you're still following this thread) few reasons.

1, in case you haven't noticed, the male and female body are quite different in shape size and proportion. It makes sense that with advances in technology, comfort would be more and more of an issue and they'd design armour to fit each body differently. Look at sports clothing for men and women. Underarmour isn't unisex, sure I can throw on a guys shirt and it'll fit but it's more comfortable around certain areas to have more custom cut fabric.

2, visual apeal. Yes, Female Shepherd isn't as physically apealing as Miranda or liara but she's still a woman and every woman on earth, no matter how tough she's acting, deep down she wants to feel pretty. She's not out there with dangly earrings or anything like that but if she is in shape she's going to want to wear something that shows it off. I think it should also give a boost to persuasion. :)

That is a rather cool looking bow actualy. Also the obligatory anorectic fourteen year old with silicone but that tired old cliche is so overused I hardly recognise it anymore.

In ME3 I want a female marine in a terminator armour from Warhammer 40k that she stays in all the time. Even in the romance scene at the end.

not exactly, what I was thinking... was meaning, drawing and aiming with one body.... the little asian dudes just lay down and fire randomly.... not as elegant as the girl on the pic.

Still.... literally is drawn with their legs... so never seen that before :P I'll give you that.

in the wh40k universe, Space marine training is only genetically possible with men

there is a faction called the "sisters of battle" with are just basically nuns with guns, led by steampunk joan of arc

why is space marine training only for men?.... that isn't cool....

1st I feel, females get easier treatment, 2nd... it can be sexist.

Sci-Fi means better equipment. body armour in today's world is low tech compared to the armour used in ME1 and 2. Just to note also men and women are not the same in size so if today's armour was unisex then most of it would not fit your average woman. It would fall off them, same if a man tried to wear a piece of armour that was meant for the female size, it would be to tight.

No matter what you do your still going to get that feminine shape due to the smaller waist and wider hips. Plus the boobs which tend to stick out more than the men. Not only that they also walk and move in a different way.

All armour in ME is shape conforming even male Shepard's armour. You may not notice it as your probably male yourself, but I bet the women do.

it has nothing to do with sexism, the genetic enhancements for space marines biologoically do not work on women

.............................do they have any nice explanation for it at least.

because from... my stand point is just

"a glove for the male right hand, doesn't fit the female right hand".

Going through wiki on the game, but can't seem to find any .... "good mumbo jumbo" on why it doesn't work on females... DNA is almost the same...
