At least they aren't wearing striptease outfits like Samara, Miranda, and Jack.

I like Samara's outfit. I'm sure asari find it rather conservative. Miranda's isn't too gratuitous either, it's just tight and white. Jack is going for shock value, so her getup makes sense too.

Yeah, but it looks weird when you see fully armored Shepard and Grunt and Miranda together. They just need armor so it won't look as ridiculous in battle.

I'd personally love to see the DLC armor that has been introduced more feminized for the female shepards. I'm a girl and frankly the DLC armor looks exactly the same way as the male armor in ME2 and it's ugly looking. Though this thread is for ME1, ME1 no longer has any DLC content coming out. So I'd prefer something for ME2.

Probably if Pilgrims were to play a game of.... GTA they would think we are nuts in the 20th century lol.

Asari have been how longer than us? on top they dont have gender like us either.

Still I much rather have the option of armor.

Have miranda, and her gorgeous body to be in her tight leather, WHEN inside the ship, outside, have medium armor. Also a full damn helmet in vaccum... but that goes witha rmor.

Same, if Jack, wants to be 90% naker, let her do it, when in ship, outside the ship, she is in full gear

No different than ME1, characters have, combat gear, and off duty clothing.

Only ones to even fit the bill...... is Tali and Garrus, and legion... and legion doesn't breath air so he doesn't count :P.

The rest are just not for combat.

It's actually nice to see different armor suits for both genders. Making it uni-sex would be an insult to some gamers.

As already notes, most modern body armor (military) is not unisex - it is designed for males, since females (in the US Military) are not permitted in the combat arms.  In law enforcement, female officers wear contured soft body armor designed for people equipped with breasts.  Their gunbulst are also chaped differently since they have differently shaped hips.

if you look at protective hard 'armor' designed for woman engaged in athletics, you will notice that it is actually designed to fit the female form.  For example, womens breast protectors worn for fencing - which are rigid and must be comfortable while engaging in a highly athletic activity, are shaped very much like the fictional hard armor seen in ME.

I cannot verify the seriousness of these suggestions, but the armor in Mass Effect is hardly as sexualized as say, armors in an Eastern MMORPG. If anything I'd consider them pretty conservative. They look different for M/F because it adds more visual variety.

If you do want to see "oversexualized," Go look up the Dark Elves from Lineage 2 or the Castanics from TERA Online.

And I agreed with him... until I saw this. CANNOT UNSEE

It's a game. If all you're concerned with is how the armour shows a womans curves you should change your priorities.

Females are sexualised in every form of media. Sex sells. Why take it out on Bioware.

I think the breast area is exaggerated in ME2 on some armors. On others, like the Kestrel chestpiece, and in ME1, the armor looks fine.

This isn't a big deal.

I was a little taken aback by the... chest area of the armor that, say, Ash is wearing.  Seems a bit... decorative in design, as opposed to purely functional.

That said, the female body isn't identical to the male, and things are going to sit differently, and some extra room might have to be allowed in different parts of a hard shell armor.

The Kestral armor seems to get it fairly right.  It... makes room, without looking silly.

The Capacitor Chestplate looks pretty much identical on either gender, so it varies a lot between armors.

Captain Wasea's armor in Samara's loyalty quest is both flattering and practical, IMO.

I'd like to see a Cerberus colored version of it available for Miranda in a future Alternate Apperance Pack.

If the female armor wasn't form fitting, it'd be potentially damaging to her body (lots of chest bouncing), and it's also impractical. The most practical armor would be skin tight and unintrusive, and as such the female versions of armor are feminised to make them more practical.

If that was indeed true, then why are current US-issue body armor unisex...?

In part, real current body armor generally relies on a thick, semi-flexible layer of fibers to distribute and absorb the kinetic energy of incoming ballistic rounds.   Whereas the armor in the ME works differently.  The don't look or fit the same because they don't work the same.

I do not see a problem at all here. If miranda, Jack and Samara want to wear what they want to wear on the ship or out on the battlefield let them. For me I would never have them wear armor even if there was armor options for them or if there was a DLC armor for them, I still wouldn't have them wear armor.

Compared to 90% of other RPGs, female armor in mass effect is actually practical. And yes, it includes some curvature, because mashed bewbs presumably make it harder to concentrate on a firefight.

In short, troll moar.

Well, as others have said more than once, I would like to see full suits for hazardous environments for some of the characters.  Miranda wandering around the Quarian ships with just that little clear mask on was jarring... probably made a lot ot Quarians sick...

THere is nothing wrong, when it fits the scenario... going in tinfoil skirts or a sexy librarian outfit to a firefight is just weird lol.

Now.... honestly, and with all due respect, if the sexy librarian outfit had a least some damn upgrades to the... "clothes" like more shields, more hp recovery or what not, then I would not complain.

Still, I prefer miranda in Predator armor with full covered helmet in vaccum than.... w/e she is wearing.

Is like ajumpsuit or something is a one piece thing?

I know this might shock you, but I'm a woman who likes to look like a woman.

And not, you know, like a man. In a man's armor.

It's like saying women's restrooms should all have urinals. How is this equality?

for a serious answer to OP

the tighter fit armor is the more comfortable it is and the better protection it gives. female bodies are more curved than males and they have these bulges on their chests some immature people call "boobies." if they were given the armor males would wear it would be baggy in some places which a gun can be caught in and thus the soldier in the uniform would have to uncatch it from the armor. it will slow them down because they'll have to pull their pants up every 5 minutes, i have that problem when i am wearing something baggy. the armor will be overly and uncomfortably snug in the chest and would hinder to woman from breathing. not being able to breathe prevents people from running as fast or as long as they would normally.

so having different gender armor allows soldiers to perform better on the battlefield.

Ummm Would the "tighter fit armor" also meen that the Kinetic energy of the bullet would well hert the person wearing said armor ?
