At least in ME1 women HAD armor. I mean...I dig when you meet up with whoever potential squad-mate they are in their personal clothing. I don't even mind a few battles in casual clothes, initially. But once your part of the team and going on missions it makes no sense to be half-naked a la Jack. If anything you need a helmet with kinetic shields to avoid a life ending headshot. Unless you can maintain a Biotic shield that doesn't interfere with you acting offensively.

Now as for sexy body armor...Well you see...Females have breasts and sometimes hips too. Armor needs to go around these...Curves. Having said that the Collector armor for females is oh so wrong. Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go start a thread asking why Samara's breasts start just above her abdomen as oppose to actually on her chest.

While I agree that the curvy accents in female armor aren't exactly necessary, as a woman myself, I find it aesthetically pleasing to look at. And I prefer it to a masculine armor style that would make FemShep seem like an afterthought. The male version is just as guilty of this; most armor for soldiers is non-descript and bulky, it doesn't show off those fabulous pectorals that ManShep has.

I also find it incredibly silly to hone in on the harmless female armor model as 'over-sexualized' considering what Miranda and Samara walk around in. I'd be a lot happier if I could slap them both in some tasteful female armor.

Only N.Korea can make their girls do ballet as human street lights and give them ridiculous futuristic uniforms! The Jetsons called and they want their uniforms back!

yeah, the female armor is pretty conservative imo... as previous posters have said its not half as cyber-revealing as other games.

oi, leave Samara and her breasts alone - I like that package as it is... she could use a push-up deception if she wanted to but she doesn't so it's all good... she prolly knows that by pushing her boobs up she'll attract too many young tards looking for some action... lol

Miranda dresses no worse than anyone else in the universe you hold her to double standars
Just posted this inanother thread here's a list of characters who dress in tight clothes!
Thane
Jacob
Mornith
Every asari ever
Kasumi
Shepards tshirt outfits
Joker
Benezia
Ashley
Kadian
Wrex and the krogan persuambly
Quarians
ME1 light armor
Volus
and many more...

Just because Miranda and samara have larger "areas" does not make them any trashier than all the others in the galaxy

And even if you gave miranda Femsheps armor copy, she would still fill it out nicleyImage IPB

P.S. i think hanar are over sexualized, you can see EVERYTHING

Just wondering why females need a seperate suit of armor for the sole purpose of showing their curves in ME? Combat armor should be unisex.

I agree

In Army/Marines when the females wear their BDUs (Battle Dress Uniform) theirs is identical to the men's. You don't see women wear "skinny fit" pant bdus with 5 inch high heal boots and a camo halter top.

wth are you talking about lol.

Ashley's uniform is the same as sheperd.... her breast make her a woman... same as any woman in today's military... the normal uniform is the same.... but there are certain bumps that the uniform really can't hide lol.

this topic is really getting funny.

Alot of people support the ME1 armor and outfit customisation for me3.
Some people think miri and samaras heels were too much... a compromise would work well.

I didn't mind FemSheps chunky boots, or Kasumis flat soles. exoskeletal heels might be the way to maintain the "hotness" in the girls outfits, while allowing customistaion of the armor.

A) What armour customization in ME1, all you got to do was pick which armor they wore, and some of the best *cough* colloussus, looked ugly as hell. I wish they would do something like the N7 armour for all or just have a battle uniform and a casual uniform. That would be perfect, cause I like samaras outfit, but ya fighting in it, well she better have strong barriers, just sayin

Like I said:

Within the normandy, let em wear w/e they want... is not a military vessel, and they are not part of the military.

Me , Male, early 20's dont give a damn if samara has a gorgeous body, or Miri has an attractive figure... just as long is within the normandy.
They want high heels... fine... they want open chest vest, fine... they want.... tattoos, fine!!!

Once we go out, BRING BACK THE INVENTORY SYSTEM, we select people,, and they go to fight with their pre selected armor sets, alliance, cerberus, w/e

Just like in ME1.

Only that ME2 has more liberty for off duty clothing.

There, we can all appreciate, Miranda's beauty, samara's figure, and we dont have to be creeped out by the fact that they can both fight in high heels...

PS:.... I didn't mention Jack because.... seriously tatoos for protection is worst lol but she falls in there too, she wants to be 90% naked inside the normandy I dont care, just as long she puts armor when we go out to kick some reaper/collector/pirate/turian councilor butt.

There... is there any better compromise?, if so, feel free, I can't think of anything better than that :P

Sorry but yup, better compromise, have modulated armour instead of just peice suits, or have person specifc armours cause I always hated how my femshep could wear the same outfit as ash, liara, and kaiden. Almost as bad as DA when the Dragons armour fit on every single one of the characters. Persoanlly I think person specific battle armours would be the best. It would allow the devs to be creative. And again look at say zaheed vs Miri, they wouldnt fit in the same armours

Theres also another thing you have to consider about ME Hardsuits, they are rated for use in Vacuum that means they have to be skin tight in order to keep us from to put it bluntly Exploding when in the Hard Vacuum of Space.

The human body can briefly survive the hard vacuum of space unprotected, despite contrary depictions in much popular science fiction.
Human flesh expands to about twice its size in such conditions, giving
the visual effect of a body builder rather than an overfilled balloon.
Consciousness is retained for up to 15 seconds as the effects of oxygen starvation set in. No snap freeze effect occurs because all heat must be lost through thermal radiation or the evaporation
of liquids, and the blood does not boil because it remains pressurized
within the body. The greatest danger is in attempting to hold one's
breath before exposure, as the subsequent explosive decompression
can damage the lungs. These effects have been confirmed through various
accidents (including in very high altitude conditions, outer space and
training vacuum chambers). Human skin does not need to be protected from vacuum and is gas-tight
by itself. Instead it only needs to be mechanically compressed to retain
its normal shape. This can be accomplished with a tight-fitting elastic
body suit and a helmet for containing breathing gases, known as a space activity suit.

Wow . . . what is this? Male chauvinism?

STFU. Maybe you are a perv. Most in the sci-fi armors on females were revealing but don't dare to make them unisex.

Have some fashion sense . . duh.

I like configurable armor which is similar to N7 armor in ME2 for my team members.

At any rate, saying the female armor is somehow over-sexualized and ignoring the fact that it's no more form-fitting than the male armor is a bit sexist, isn't it? And just why the heck is the female form by itself somehow "oversexualized?"

As a side note, people use the example of today's BDU as an example of "unisex" armor. This is not exactly correct as the body armor is made to fit a male body. A number of female soldiers I know have complained that the smaller body armors, while able to ostensibly "fit," are still more uncomfortable than necessary due to the fact that the armor is made for male proportions. So, in short, today's armor is not unisex, it is male. Also, if you read the description of the armor in Mass Effect you'll know that no two suits of armor are the same as armor is personalized to the wearer. hence, if the wearer is male it will bear a carrot shape in the torso and if the wearer is female the the torso will be more hourglass shaped.
