Warrior Talents - Shield Defense vs Cover vs Wall

Now that the game has been out for a while and all of you stat parsers have worked your magic, what do you feel the usefulness of the three sustainable sword & shield talents are? My research has shown:

Shield Cover - near useless

Shield Defense - useful until you gain shield wall

Shield Wall - the optimal choice

Is this correct? Assuming you have all the talents that upgrade the various stances, does Shield Wall become the obvious and only choice or does Shield Defense make better sense depending on the fight?

That's correct. Shield Wall is best because of the relative scarcity of +armor boosts and the knockdown immunity. It might not be if the 20% damage penalty applied, but it doesn't, so yeah.

Shield Cover
  • While in this mode, the warrior gains +10 missile deflection.
    Shield Mastery grants another +10 missile deflection while in this mode.
    Only one Shield mode can be active at a time.
  • Conjuration time: 1 s.
Shield Defense
  • While this mode is active, the character drops into a defensive
    stance that favors the shield, granting +5 defense and +5 missile
    deflection, but suffering -5 attack. Shield Balance removes the attack
    penalty while in this mode. Shield Expertise grants +5 defense while in
    this mode. Shield Mastery grants another +5 defense while in this mode.
    Only one Shield mode can be active at a time.
  • Conjuration time: 1 s.
Shield Wall
  • In this mode, the character gains +5 armor and +10 missile deflection, but at the cost of -20% reduced damage.
  • Shield Expertise makes the character immune to direct knockdown attacks while in this mode.
  • Shield Mastery grants +10 defense while in this mode.
  • Only one Shield modal can be active at a time.
  • Conjuration time: 1 s.
So Cover = +20 Missle Defense, Defense = +15 Defense and +5 Missle Defense, Wall = +5 Armor, +10 Missle Defense, +10 Defense, -20% damage dealt, and Knockdown Immunity.

So I agree cover is pretty much useless, Wall is the best but Defense has its uses and is cheaper when fight lots of normal enemies.
