I have an Intel GMA X3100, which I don't think actually is a card, if my ignorant Google searches are serving me well.

The system specs for the Mac version are as follows:
  • Mac OS X 10.6.2 Leopard or higher
  • Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
  • 2 GB RAM
  • ATI X1600 or NVIDIA 7300 or greater
  • At least 17 GB of hard drive space for installation
  • This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5)-based Mac systems, or Intel GMA class of video cards.
Note the last line. The game will not run on Intel GMA class of video cards.

I suspected as much, but since I didn't know the Intel GMA cards, I couldn't say anything about it. Thanks, dualie. Sorry, akadoor.

I ran 1.03 for a long time. That was relatively stable, but the high dragons became wusses. 1.04 fixed the dragons, but I too have that exception raised crash often. I am just about done with playing this game anyway.

Vewry weird. 1.04 cleaned almost everything up for me. (runs faster, (now all graphic settings run on max) only 10% of the crash rate I had before...

Anyway, my copy of Dragon Age has the latest Mac patch. I play it with no other apps running. No problems up till the Circle of Magi quest (specifically rescuing everyone from The Fade). Ever since then (I'm onto the Orzammar quest now), the game has been consistent in crashing. It's always that 'exception raised' crash, where it asks you if you want to debug, and nothing happens whether you click yes or no. It happens in area transitions and regular play (walking/running). It happens at any time.

I started having the same issue after this quest.  I am pretty sure it is because I added Wynne to the party.  I noticed that it normally locked up for me after a battle when Wynne was casting a spell.

To get rid of the lockup I went into tactics and disabled the action that causes Wynne to cast Rejuvenate.

I just installed the game on a 2011 iMac, Mac OS 10.6.8. There were one or two crashes at first, but now in the circle tower (with Wynne), it's crashing every couple of minutes. Essentially unplayable now.

Version 1.05.13263.7581.

So when I try and download the patch it says I can't because the "contents of the file "DragonAge 1.05. exe" cannot be extracted with this program. I have a new macbook pro running 10.7.3

Soooo... did anyone solve this problem? I also had some random crashes after I recruited Wynne, nothing serious, but now I have started the fight against Archdemon 4 or 5 times and it always crashes in the middle of the battle!! God, I'm so frustrated! I've searched how to fix it everywhere and apparently no one knows what to do.At this moment, if there's some cheat that allows me to instant kill Archdemon and jump to the final cutscenes I would gladly use it. <_<

Just in case there's still someone out there with the same issue: deleting the Settings folder in Documents folder worked for me. I don't know if just restoring the default settings would do the trick, since I just deleted the folder and changed nothing until I killed Archdemon. All I know is that I finally can move on and play Dragon Age II.

By the way, it was my first DA:O playthrough. Awesome game. <3

Just bought the game recently. On a, in my opinion, beast of a macbook. And I crash consistently in the second floor of the Mage Tower. "Exception Raised" and then what look like some memory references. Tried deleting settings, all that did was screw up my DLC. I bought Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition (Mac). And my computer specs are;
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz
Memory: 8 GB
Chipset Model: AMD Radeon HD 6750M
Type: GPU
Bus: PCIe
VRAM (Total): 1024 MB
System Version: Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549)
Kernel Version: Darwin 10.8.0

I love this game, I even bought it a second time so I could play it on my macbook. But this is ridiculous. It was fine for 7 hours. I hit the mage tower and boom. Does anyone know if contacting Bioware or even TransGaming is effective? I want my money back if this isn't going to work. It's pretty unprofessional to have un handled exceptions in a professional piece of software. I at least expected a error code or something.

I've had the same problem as Meridie, though it seems it happens everywhere for me. It was fine before, I even ran the game with Very High Detail, High Texture Resolution, 2x Anti-aliasing with 50fps everywhere, but now it gives me an exception raised error every 5 minutes of gameplay, and then a crash. I have not idea what went wrong, but I've tried checking hardware problem (there was one, and I "repaired" it with disk utility) and nothing changed. I have quite a few mods, though none had caused crashes before. I also tried putting the graphics on low, textures on low, no anti-aliasing, but it still had the same crash. I'm at a loss! >:\\
