About Alistair: that's something I loved about him too. I love the jokey options in the rose convo especially. He's awesome.

Carth Syndrome is bad, though. Any romance that has some sort of Carth Syndrome is.. you don't feel "number one" in that person's life but simply a replacement.

Ohhh, I love Carth. He is sweet and adorkable. I'm just dead tired of the trope, is all. I'm fairly certain it's in the majority of BioWare games with a love interest available. I'm ready for a new character story, yanno?

Dead on.  You get to start feeling like just the replacement when all the LI talks about is his first tru wuv instead of you.

As I said on the "Hawke = Daniel Farady thread," I will be playing default Hawke because he is pretty and I would rather look at him and make googly eyes, then play a female PC who makes googly eyes at other male characters. With a guy this good-looking, who needs LIs.

Meh, I don't know. I liked the Carth romance. It wasn't my favourite ever, obviously, but I still liked it.

Urgh, Alistair. Maybe its just me but by the time we got to Lothering I wanted to kill him and run away into teh wilds with Morrigan. And I liked the guy at first! He was my bro! But then he got all whiney and his jokes just werent funny anymore.

Please Bioware, please dont add another obvious buddy cliche?

EDIT: Also, proving how awesome Hawke is: He caught every last single one of those buggers.

Almost everyone likes him though, so they didn't do as bad as you think. I'd probably say he's the most popular male LI BioWare has ever done.

That fog is actually Hawke's beard. It is so dark and lush you lose your bearings and languish in it.
