And I'll be damned if I don't play as Garret Hawke: Blood Mage in my first playthrough!

I am definitely rolling a mage Hawke on my first run through. Mage apostate siblings ftw!

Heh, I wonder just how many people decided to go Mage after 1) the trailer, and 2) finding out Beth is an apostate. I'll certainly be joining them. I mean, my canon Warden is a DW City Elf Rogue, so having a mage Hawke seems fair.

Pretty much exactly like me. DW CE Rogue and all.

What a load of auld tosh, it simply must be Arl Eamon/Vartag Gavorn = Graham McTavish, he has massive VA profile as the big bad in Uncharted 2, and well, he is mint and one of my top choices.
Only Hawke's VA could stare down Rambo, whilst Rambo is pointing a bow & arrow at him!

Man, I can't wait to play Dragon Age 2 for the second time (my first will be a female--I wonder if I could still take her seriously if I named her Nutella?) and get me some sweet cocoa-hazelnutty goodness! (Heh, good luck LIs, he's mine!) He looked really cool as an arcane warrior type, and I do like the mage apostate siblings idea. On the other hand, with a name like Garrett, I'll almost have to make him a rogue--then again, warrior is strangely appealing in this case.
I guess it's the idea of having an extended period of time to play with a nice, thick Hawke. :innocent:

Wait you have got to be kidding me. Arl Eamon has not only been in Rambo but he is also Warden Ackerman? Epic, you learn something new every day.
Now I want Robert Llewellyn to voice someone in DA2.

It's not really a bad name.
At the rate the Ladyhawke thread is going I'm expecting a few ' Etain's' as well.

Is Etain that woman from Centurion or whatever? Meh. Maybe for a wild mage type, but not as a default. I personally want a stronger looking female with better armor.
I'm so tired of seeing the typical girly depiction of customizable female characters. I have the hardest time looking at some avatars on this forum because it's just a modern beauty. Why is there such an obsession with being beautiful? I want a strong female character, and I want that to show in her features. No doe-eyes and thin face. I want a square shaped face, set jaw, determined/narrow eyes, and high, pronounced cheek bones. I want to look at fem!hawke and say "Daaaaaaamn I don't wanna mess with her." Making an Angelina Jolie is just ugh in my opinion.
I want fem!hawke to look as respectable and intimidating as male!hawke.

Ladyhawke can look however people want, but for the default I agree. She doesn't have to be masculine, but I want her to look intimidating and capable. It seems to be that the males can be badass but the woman would be called ugly or butch if she doesn't look like a fashion model LARPing. /end rant
I need Nutella to soothe me... give me some chocolate hazelnuts, Hawke...

The companion looks like a strong-looking character (forgot her name--the templar's wife). Gives me good hope that this will happen.

The woman they keep on spamming just looks like an IRL Morrigan to me with different coloring and hair. So yeah, for a Morrigan type character (a mage living in the wilds) it's an ok look. Not that Morrigan and this woman aren't gorgeous, but not my preference.

Now I know the actress playing her is quite good looking, but she is playing a woad warrior in those screenshots. Say what you want about the film, but I've heard good things about her portrayal of the role, and she looks plenty intimidating to me.
I get that your not a fan, but I'm kind of suprised to see people talking about her as if we'd all been asking for Megan Fox or something.
Personally I liked the comparison to male Hawke that character brings, with the furs and somewhat wild look. To me Garrett Hawke looks a lot like a male Morrigan, something that made all the more sense to me when I saw him use magic...
^^Quinzel: I think people already have enough Morrigan clone theories at the moment.

I don't really know who this actress is, nor who her character is, nor what this movie is about so I am merely going by the appearance since that is what we are discussing. I don't dislike her and have no reason to, I am just saying that the look doesn't appeal to me and I'd prefer to see the female Hawke looking different and less traditionally beautiful. Why can't LadyHawke wear the same armor as Male Hawke? Why can't she have a similar facial structure?
I think people use Morrigan hair because it is one of the few hairstyles with nice bangs available.
