I actually always thought she looked pretty tough, and not a traditional beauty in the sense of what a lot of fantasy females are like these days.
Im intriqued to see some examples of what you mean if y'all have any.

So will you guys call your Default!Hawke "Garrett" when the time comes, or are you thinking of using something different? (probably way too early to ask this, but whatever)

I'll most likely name them David Hawke, though I'll be using Garrett for my Rogue.

I don't really know who this actress is, nor who her character is, nor what this movie is about so I am merely going by the appearance since that is what we are discussing. I don't dislike her and have no reason to, I am just saying that the look doesn't appeal to me and I'd prefer to see the female Hawke looking different and less traditionally beautiful. Why can't LadyHawke wear the same armor as Male Hawke? Why can't she have a similar facial structure?
I think people use Morrigan hair because it is one of the few hairstyles with nice bangs available.
I mostly brought it up because the role she is playing in that film is exactly the sort of thing that was just described. Rough, strong warrior woman. *shrugs* I don't really get the whole 'traditionally beautiful' thing personally. Beauty is beauty, it comes in many forms, there doesn't have to be any 'tradition' about it and even if there were it would be wildly different depending on your culture etc etc.
That character basically is wearing the same armor as Male Hawke? Just minus the gauntlet. I don't know why you think she wouldn't wear the same armor as him anyway and surely it wouldn't be an issue with 'default Hawkes' because they will all start with basic armor anyway - not the stuff we see in the CGI trailer. Sad as that might be.
Incidentally there is no reason why the default ladyhawke couldn't look like the woman from those pictures and also have Hawke's facial structure.
But I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

Did you think I was disagreeing with Claudia Black because I didn't think she looked the part? Not at all, I'm a big fan of her work and tend to think she fits the role of tough warrior woman quite well. I was just referring to her role as Morrigan, although to be fair Morrigan wasn't modelled after her so it could still work.

I just thought it'd be refreshing to have a female default character that doesn't have that typical beauty and wears armor that is practical and not showcasing her figure. Which is why I said that I'd basically want the default female Hawke to look pretty much like the female version of Garrett, with the square-ish shape face Hawke and Bethany share, and the armor the same as male Hawke's just sized to fit her and not looking like the metal was hammered on her body (more snug than latex).
But whatever. This isn't the place for this conversation and I am not going to agree that I want the default female Hawke to look like that woman.

*shrug* To me she looks extremely traditionally beautiful, even with heavy makeup and a cloak on. I don't have anything against traditional beauty at all, but the particular aesthetic of her look is not something I'd picture a warrior or rogue wearing (which is why I said it's fine for a mage if she's a bit wild).

I don't get the armor thing. Hawke wears tight armor, there have been jokes about it. He just has a big metal gauntlet/pouldron. It's tought to find pictures of women who have worn similar armor, and I just used my imagination to think of her wearing Hawke's armor.
We're not even sure default Hawke isn't a mage yet either, he uses magic afterall...

He won't, the fangirls will spread the Nutella all over him before he's finished.

He'll need more than two giant Nutellas if he want be in shape to make the fangirls happy. The power of fanfiction don't forgive anyone.

No, no I didnt think that, I didnt think you were disagreeing with me at all, my curiousity was more aimed at Yuki's post.
Thats just how I picture a tough, main charecter, like Aeryn Sun or Janeway from Voyager. I was just intrigued byYuki's post. I was interested in seeing what she thought wasn't a traditional fantasy female beauty.

Was listening to electrolic music when I saw this. Hawke and the nutella were dancing to it. It got really sticky, I tell you

They are both beautiful, I don't really see the big difference personally. They both have quote defined, almost square, jawlines even. It doesn't help that we are essentially comparing a stylised drawing with a real person either. But yeah, sorry I'll leave it at that. Each to their own, I'd take either for LadyHawke in a heartbeat.
