This is a very good point. Will Bioware retcon Hawke into a romance with this woman at least at some point? Either Hawke? I don't think that would go over so well, I know a few people who wouldn't be too keen on the idea of a cannonized bisexual Fem!Hawke. Or maybe for a female Hawke, she and the pirate woman are just strong friends.
Yes - this is what I was thinking too (I dont know what retcon means but I will try not to look too stupid, apologies), seems strange to have it in such a cinematic trailor and brought me to thinking on the subject. So for the male Hawke - he obviously likes woman (or things dressed as women) - but for the female Hawke would there be a male pirate or just a strong friendship with the aforementioned pirate ******. I think strong friends would be an apt description since they would seem to enjoy tongue wrestling.

She could be beautiful as something really beautiful, she's kissing Hawke, therefore she must be a horrible person who brings death and suffering for everyone around her.

Funnily enough I compared him to Adam Ant the day the trailer hit too, his Nutella stripe reminded me of exactly this. :happy:
Edit: On a related note I've always felt that random fluff like 'highwayman' hats and the like is something I'd like to see in Dragon Age. Style is important too!

Very nice - again. I don't know how easy it is to do something like that but it certainly looks very complicated to me. Great job - thanks for sharing your skills with us and I look forward to seeing more. It has a certain Pirates of the Carribean feel to it, maybe because of she who shall not be named. Only one thing could improve this picture in my opinion, A big jar of nutella in the righthand corner perhaps?

Here's a few of the thousand screenies of the flashback sequence in the trailer, I'll just give my thoughts on each individual one. I'll put them in no specific order, just whatever was uploaded first. I won't cover pirate lady due to her being obvious.
House on Fire.
Many people seem to take this screenshot as the burning of Lothering but it can't due to one simple factor; Hawke has his gauntlet. Unless the gauntlet is simply a marketing tool, I believe it plays a key part in the main storyline and having the house be on fire with Hawke's gauntlet (he doesn't have it in the playable gamescom demo) would mean that the house is set ablaze after the events of the demo.
This would hint that maybe it's Hawke's extended family's house or somebody important's house to have an a mention in the trailer. While it's all wild speculation, I'm personally betting that Hawke's extended family dies in this fire and the game carries on without them. Simply due to how problematic family gets when roleplaying.

This one is fairly simple in my intepretation, I believe that the city is Kirkwall (big surprise there, amirite?) and Hawke is either arriving or looking at it for some other (unknown) reason. This would mean that once again we must venture to the Deep Roads, although if this is for better or for worse is left to your own tastes.
Flemeth.
Nothing really to say here, I've just linked the Dragon photo due to the dragon having Flemeth's "horns".
Stone Golem thing.
I really don't know what to say about this thing, could it mean there's a new sort of golem or a type of elemental in Dragon Age 2?
The Harvester 2.0
The implications of another one of these.. things is quite disturbing, proving that Golems of A-whatever DLC is canon and that we should expect to fight more of these things. I've also added the Origins version of the monster for those who've not played the DLC. Skip the next bit of text if you're not interested in DLC spoilers.
GOA spoilers: The Harvester is a being created when a dozen deceased bodies are crafted together to save money and minerals of the usual Golems, the dwarves who've created the monster took the Casteless from Orzammar and created this thing with their bodies. A mage from the Tevinter would then bind the soul of a Fade demon to the body. This body has a detachable head. After you defeated the beast, you flee from the Thaig but don't notice a dozen more crawl from where you came; proving that the dwarves created more or that the creatures can create more of themselves.
Morrigan-looking Cultists vs Templars.
A lot of women are fighting some templars, the suspicious thing about these women is they all look similar to Morrigan or they shopped at the same tailor. I'm suspecting the Morrigan look is just due to Blur deciding to recycle the Morrigan outfit from the Sacred Ashes trailer although it could have further implications that we don't know about.
Morrigan-clones aside, this makes me think these women are cultists under Flemeth and that they are leading an army against the Templars. Nothing much more can be said.
Strider.
The beastiary on the main site explains this one. The size of it compared to the mountains and trees though? Scary.
Samurai robot thing.
Both these things look different (due to the head) but the body isn't much different. The face reminds me of Origin's Flemeth leaving me to wonder if this is just my imagination playing tricks on me.

I think the last four-armed statue are the same. The first one look like the "mask" of the helm is on, and in the second picture, the "mask" of the helm is off. I don't know if I could made myself clare, but somethimes I see helmes like these in games or in movies.

I like your theories about the gauntlet, although I can't help but feel that like the Morrigan clones thing this is potentially just another Blur trailer miscommunication. Save time making a Hawke in a different outfit by just showing him in his 'standard' one etc.
