Duncan was heavily disappointed when Angry Hawke survived the joining and had Alistair carry him to the Tower of Ishal to be out of sight of everybody else to not shame the Grey Warden name.

Flemeth saved Alistair and Angry Hawke in an effort to save Ferelden but upon realising her mistake that Angry Hawke was the worst possible choice, she returned to the field in an attempt to save Duncan. It was too late.
