Hey, why's it so wrong for girls to want to see other girls being used in advertising (and not as sex objects clinging to a male hero)?
I'm honestly all up for Female Hawke, although advertisement tends to always focus on sex appeal when it comes to female heroes. Lara Croft is pretty much a sex symbole for gamers now and RPGs tend to make women with breasts the size of mountains. This isn't an argument against it, just saying this. Don't hurt me, Yuki.*cowers*

Actually. I agree with you, which is why most of us ladies asking for female Hawke think it would be awesome for BioWare to show her off too. You know, make her look just as badass and cool as Garrett without making her half naked and writhing on his lap or something.
But.. why not this part?

Because then I'll get jealous.
But really, I think something like the Persona 3 Portable box art would be cool.

That is the male and female protagonist (you can play as either/or) in the foreground of the image. Use them both for marketing, it'd be amazeballs.

Well, I'd be rather disappointed if I purchased the game without knowing anything and FemHawke wasn't a romance option. ;P

Then again you couldn't play as a female until the last game of the 2nd generation in 2001.

When it comes to JRPGS, I almost always play as the/a male character. I think I only have one or two female players on all 10 of my pokemon versions because I normally disliked the female design. You'd think customs trainers would of been added to these games by now.
Then again you couldn't play as a female until the last game of the 2nd generation in 2001.
The speed of which Pokemon adds new features and upgrades to the series you can expect to see the likes of custom trainers around about Pokemon Unobtainium released in 2038. <_<
Edit; Personally I see the pc as a romance option, just put yourself in Varric's shoes for the love makign scenes and voila. Yes this example works for both genders.

Honestly, Atlus did a wonderful job with that. It is a quality product and the marketing for it was fine. Especially the box art juxtaposing the male and female protagonist. Doesn't alienate the male audience, and maybe even draws in people. Heh.
They really did. Persona 3 Portable is pretty much the only game apart from Dragon Age where I immediately started a second game to get everything and talk to (and date) people I hadn't in my first runthrough. I had already played the PS2 version 2x, so playing as a female gave such an awesome alternate look to the game. I also love that they're not afraid to put both the main character options in their advertising and promo art. Almost as soon as they announced P3P they had images of both protagonists together, and of both of them alone. By making it clear you could play as either from the get go, they used it as an advertising point and a huge draw (especially to people who now got a chance to date their favorite male characters, muaha)./

I was just bummed that I couldn't snag Jin of Team Strega. That's my only bummer-mode. I mean, Junpei got Chidori. why oculdn't I get Jin? D:
On topic: Dave's beard controls all. Discuss. Wait, no, that's not the topic.

I would, phwoar get a load of that luxurious beard.
But seriously, I don't get the joke. We already have Varric topping MaleHawke like icing on an especially Nutella infused cake.

Lol, reminds me of all the girls crying they couldn't have Junpei because of Chidori. I mean, if they let you date Ken
And yes. It's gonna be hard to top our Mr. Hawke in the looks department. BioWare is probably stuck between high-fiving themselves for making such a popular design and wondering what the hell they're gonna do now, lol. Aside from letting us have Varric, obviously.

Honestly, I was more excited for the Shinjiro one. It was probably the most depressing one out of them all, though. That one and the Ryoji one.
Probably high-fiving Blur for their designs, dangling Varric in front of us then taking him away while laughing maniacally! D:

They should do a two-for-one. Male Hawke can romance your dwarf while female players can romance me (that is trapped in your body after being eaten whole). It'll had interesting complexity to romance options that have never been done before!

I'd so romance your avatar and Varric. At the same time. Dwarven studs are a rare commodity.
