Just noticed there is like one second more of Hawke in the director's cut version of the Destiny trailer. Whee!

Every time I watch the trailer I go through, "I'm gonna make my Hawke a warrior, no wait an arcane warrior, NO A MAGE!"
Then I watch the trailer again and go through the cycle again. xD

You'll totally make him a Rogue, if only to be different.

That, and so I can run through hallways without setting off traps. :pinched:

Rogue.  Something captivating about speed and finesse. I hope they distinguish the classes well. Ninja Hawke will be sweet. I mean. Cough* Rogue.

If I had to make a few suggestions for Rogue Hawke to make them different from the rest...

Rogue Hawke, when stealthed, doesn't attract every Darkspawn in the nearby area to attack your companions instead (although this might have been a bug).

Rogue Hawke moves faster than both Mages and Warriors.

Rogue Hawke can apply poisons into enemies that don't deal damage but weaken them while stealthed.

Stealthing through entire missions should become an option. (Think: Oblivion)

I really enjoyed the Oblivion system, it was always useful. In Origins I never used the sneak skill because they always just attacked my companions. The speed would be a huge plus.

Yeah, the speed itself would often be the reason why I'd use Dog as a companion. I felt I was losing out on dialogue and such, yet Dog is the only companion that moves faster in combat than everybody else slowing down. This made Dog one of the most fun characters to control (even with a limited ability set) due to being able to lock down mages faster than everybody else.

To me, that sounds more like a Rogue's job to lock down the threat while the rest of the party deal with the others.

You know what funny to me? A Rogue Has the best skills outside of battle. They can get the loot, disable the traps, sneak out of battle and persuade the target.

Thank the maker, my City Elf was a good guy or he would of been the ultimate Jerk.Posted Image

Hm ... quiet here.

So, how about this.

What do you think makes Hawke what he is? I know we'll have a sort of backstory already written but what would you make him?

My Hawke would be a personality that he must protect everyone and everything. Leaving Lothering wasn't easy and he still feels remorse each day for running. He was in the Lothering militia, hence the reason his training in two handed weapons. Magic is something he never could understand, and seeing his sister as a mage, possible apostate?, only depeens the rift he feels towards her and his beliefs on the matter.

I'm making him a sarcastic rogue with a good heart but not naive-good. Like.. he won't abandon a village because he can't be rewarded but he'd always treat people he hates like ****. Like.. if Bethany would sell me out to the Templars for something, I'd be like "You ****!".

And since the FemHawke thread is closed, here's my fugly Fem Hawke. For some reason uploading it makes it pixelated:

You guys/gals should post in this thread, clearly they are wrong and DA2 is being marketed towards females thanks to Hawke. Maybe an OLD SPICE style commercial would help

This thread gets kept open but Lady Hawke's gets closed. Wow definitive proof of BioWare's sexist, subservient attitude towards their main female characters.

I am a woman myself and i think that thread got closed because of spam or something else like the breasts topic...i was sure it's going to get a lockdown. I don't think bioware is sexist or anything like that.

It was closed for going off-topic. I'm sure there will be another FemHawke discussion thread when her design is revealed. I wouldn't say that is sexism, but that's your opinion.

And if we try to keep it on-topic here, we can avoid being locked too.

Chris just said he was locking it at 100 pages due to off topic-ness and said he would re-open it when Lady Hawke is revealed. Sucks, but hardly proof of sexism on Bioware's part...

When/if I get around to playing male Hawke, since I rarely get around to second playthroughs, I'll just use the default Hawke's appearance if he at all resembles his sexay trailer self. He will be chipper, irreverent, kleptomaniac, and exhibit some of the "crouching moron hidden badass" trope if I can pull it off.

My fem Hawke will be made of evil. EEEEEEEEEVIL.

Of topic???  Several of the posts on the very page he'd locked it at were about Lady Hawke.  Unless he thinks a thread should be closed every time people celebrate reaching a milestone, which would mean every big thread would be locked!

Tried that once.
The juice was bad, but the nutella and bread combination was pretty good even though a Hawke and nutella combination is much better.

Posh?, well I suppose it's better than being called a pompous arse.

Tea does have a wonderfully astringent quality however, which contrasts nicely with the sweet, cloying and marvelously tasty aforementioned chocolate spread.

I rather hope Hawke's destiny is to start the East Rivain Company so that tea can be introduced to Ferelden.

...I have to ask a question ".Why so Nutella?"

I mean why do you guys keep bringing up Nutella?

...Because I have to put it on Tv tropes.
