OP, I aggree completely on the terms of EA-quality-downgrading.
I hope for god's sake, that BioWare will somehow be not entirely corrupted by EA.
We see signs as the half-bakened appearance of Conrad Verner who insists on being treated by a renegade-shepard, even if you where all-thru paragon.
I liked ME2 so far, although it mostly served as a sequel to ME1 to deepen the insight into the me-universe.
Also it was more shooter-based than RPG, which kinda adds to the mainstream-stuff EA want's to crap(rather than bring) out.
Though I liked the new Armor-Design, I was a bit disappointed of the small impact the boni made on the game-play.
Alltogether the game was able to stand up to the ME1-legacy, but disappointed a bit in terms of RPG-gameplay and some small design-flaws like minimum-impact of Feros on the ME-world.
I'm happy so far that the good dialouges and many character-oppinions stood up to the ME1-legacy, but rather worried that EA will ruin this series as it did with C&C.
So, if anyone from EA or BioWare reporting to EA reads this, as someone who played both games and saw your fingers lurk through the design like you did in other games, I'd like to suggest something:
EA, if you really want to make money, get out of the BioWare-studio as fast as possible.
The only things EA should add to the game are:
-the annoying unskippable EA-logo at the beginning
-some EA-departments in the credits
Everything between this two parts should be in the hands of BioWare, BioWare and no one else but BioWare.
They had enough success to make some of the EA-guys decide to buy them up, let it be a symbiotic business, rather than sucking the money out of the studio.
oh so i guess Mass Effect 2 selling more than Mass Effect 1 is ruining the franchise its called expanding the audience of a franchise. Mass Effect 2 is the better game it has the better game play mechanics even biotics in Mass Effect 2 are better.
