First off, I know nothing about the toolset (though I'm willing to learn!)
It always bugged me that the warden shows up to the coronation in armour. I guess it makes sense for the people's hero, but I always found it especially awkward if Alistair is introducing his new queen and she's dressed in plate.
What I want to implement is having the warden in a dress / noble clothing for that cutscene.
The way I understand it, the cutscene shows the PC as he/she is, so the change in clothes would have to come after the cutscene of killing the dragon, and before the coronation cutscene.
I'm thinking it could be done a bit like where you change into guards' clothing to rescue Anora. The game must check several flags - who is ruling, PC is queen/king, status of Loghain etc - before launching it. Would it be possible to forcibly change the PC clothing?
Anyone with more experience know if this might be possible, or give me any guidance on what to look into?
Warden change clothes for coronation?

I would ask this same question in the scripting forum. I would guess you would have to put the new clothing items in the characters inventory, then in a script just before the cutscene runs equip the new clothing. (I'm not sure if you could put those scripting commands in the same script as the one that launches the cutscene or not.)

Pretty much what Beerfish said.
The coronation cutscene is called as part of the area script so you will need to modify the epi100ar_coronation to achieve what you want. Keeping in mind there are other mods that want to override these cutscenes too, you might want to give Anakin's Event Manager a try to ensure compatibility.

I did a test and was able to change the clothing for the player in a cutscene by adding the following lines to the script that started the cutscene. I made sure these lines were before the line that played the cutscene. My script was from a trigger.
object oCreature = GetEventCreator(evCurrent);
object oChestArmour = UT_AddItemToInventory(R"gen_im_cth_mag_app.uti");
EquipItem(oCreature, oChestArmour);
Now you probably can't use these exact lines because yours is called from a convo and will be set up a bit different but the it is the same general idea. In the example above my player had one set of clothing before the cutscene and then I changed it to some mage robes. Of course he/she will still have the mage robes after the cutscene unless you add some similar lines to the the EndScript of the cutscene. So this is for sure doable it's just a matter of getting the lines in your script to start the cutscene and then in the one that ends the cutscene.
I am not a scripting guru so I would suggest asking for further help on the scripting forum. (Tell them what you want to accomplish, tell them that you know you need to add to inventory and equip and post your script that starts the cutscene from the conversation.)
