For my Dw warrior , I used
Origins: Starfang+Longsword
Awakening: Daisycutter+Vigilance

Something to consider=)

For 2x full-sized you'd have been better off with Veshialle + Starfang for Origins.
For Awakening Voice of Velvet is the best off-hand by miles. I know it's not a full-size, but there's nothing else that comes close to beating the +100% crit damage.
Daisycutter is good 'cos it looks hawt though :) So there's that.

I am considering making my first Dwarf Commoner playthrough a dualwielding warrior, so how about 2 x Veshialle axes?

Since I finished the new DLC I have the mace, which sells for over 300 gold, and this makes it possible for me to buy the axe from Bodahn when at his camp for the first time, allow his stores to replenish when I return second time and buy another. Dwarves = axes for me ;-)

Wasn't there a cap of 50% on +crit damage? Did anyone test if Voice of Velvet actually increases crit dmg by 100%?

I'm not very sure if it does that high, but, yeah, Voice of Velvet does very good job.

For Origins I believe the cap is 50% (gear cap that is), but Awakening which is where VoV is the cap is 200%.
So for a DW in Awakening best set up is VoV + 4x Intensifying Rune (20% crit/BS damage each) + 20% from Find Vitals.
Base crit dmg is 150%, so you're looking at 200% crit dmg total for Origins and 350% total for Awakening :) not too shabby.

It's 350% for origins as well. See here

Oh cool :) sorry my mistake.

Did they change the cap in a patch or something maybe? I coulda sworn the Origins cap was 50% at some point.

Its quite insane when you hit that +350% Cap and have a high crit rate.

I went two full weapons with this build here

social.bioware.com/playerprofile.php

it is a beast of a build, no joke.

total of 37STR and 54 dex full weapons with the talent/skill that lets you backstab a stunnd enemy, super fast attack speed with haste. Hp is a little low, but I had one heal and two tanks so it was not that bad.

2 tanks is kinda overkill probably, you could  have swapped 1 tank for a 2nd rogue (cunning based if your str/dex) and had an extra SoC/Pet/Mark etc. who can also pick locks and so free up a couple of your talents for combat abilities.

Also, you'd get more damage with your build with just the minimum 36 dex (50 for awakening) needed for all DW talents (incl. fade bonuses) and the rest in strength, as dex doesn't affect full size weapon damage, only daggers and range weapons.

Nah, Disco misread the script initially. He saw the 200% critical modifier and thought that included the normal 150% crit modifier as opposed to being in addition to.

On one of my playthroughs on Xbox 360 ( so it may be different on computer since the battles are more difficult ) I made a warrior who was dual wielding starfang and imperial edge, he did very well, starfang is from wardens keep DLC, and i beileve Imperial edge can be found in the alienage near the end of the game, which sort of sucks :(

Sorry if that has been answered before.

Is there a speed factor on weapons? (one that we can see?)

As a warrior give me the Keening blade maxed out on cold runes and Starfang maxed out on electrickery runes, I keep Bloodline to switch in for the Darkspawn and Topsider's for undead. I just love Brute Force duel weapons style.

I have a DW rogue, I use 2 axes, it just looks so cool. :D Bloodline and Biteback Axe, both with runes.

I used a Sword + Dagger combination on my Warrior during my last playthrough. I don't know if it's the most effective way, but I had a lot of fun with it. I used:

Blightblood + Thorn of the Dead Gods

Duncan's Sword + Duncan's Dagger

Blightblood + The Rose's Thorn

In that order. I'm not sure what sword would be best, but as far as I know The Rose's Thorn is unsurpassed in Origins.

It is indeed.

As far as I know, The Veshialle is the best full-sized one-hander and The Rose's Thorn is the best dagger. Depending on your build, you can take 2 x Veshialle, Veshialla + The Rose's Thorn, or The Rose's Thorn + something else. A good dagger offhand is The Edge, but Duncan's Dagger, Thorn of the Dead Gods or even Crow Dagger are also good.

Depends purely on the stats of your character. Do you have better dex? Double dagger.

Better Strenght? sword+axe/mace.

The weapons that gives raw damage (not elemental damage) bonus are very powerful in dual build since the damage adds to the other weapon. The Edge, with +5 Damage, is a very powerful weapon.

Daggers are the weakest with talents like Punisher and Whirlwind, because that's only a set number of hits (four or two) and the fast attack speed doesn't come into play. But for regular attacks and backstabs, which you are doing the clear majority of the time, when you're hitting the target over and over, they're the best. Also, while the base damage is lower, the critical chance and armor penetration can be higher. That is certainly the case with The Veshialle versus The Rose's Thorn.

Don't daggers generally inflict more backstab and armore penetration as a rule..as well?  So if you're built stealthy and dextrous you should use daggers.

I don't think daggers do more backstab damage as a rule. But lots of daggers have +backstab/crit as a bonus. The Rose's Thorn has an insane 30% boost.

The point of daggers is they're faster, and more attacks works well with +damage modifiers and the bonuses you get from assassin for example, as those bonuses have nothing to do with weapon damage otherwise. Slower weapons will get to add those same bonuses less often.
