It has always been a great idea to both nurture present costumers and cultivate new costumers in whatever business you're in, But in the computer games industry it seems like the prevailing method is to forget about your present costumers and go all out for new ones.
Would it has hurt Bioware so much to put up a 2 min game play vid on this board while they opened op shop in Germany?
I don't think so, In fact i think it would have gone a long way to ease the frustration Biowares current costumers feels right now, And who can blame them - After all what Bioware is saying by all this is that some random guy in Germany is more important to them than their fans.

That's a bit harsh, but I do agree. Why are some people able to play a demo while people taking an active part in the online community and taking interest in the game from all around the world can't even see a proper gameplay video of the demo... We just have to wait, and wait...

It's like you're out on a date with a guy and he asks you if you would like a drink - he then moves to the bar but on the way he stops another girl and strikes up a conversation with her and then buys her a drink ..all while you're watching.
And you can just stand there looking lovely but feeling thirsty and neglected.

Now. I just saw the IGN article. It made me feel better;
If you were concerned that Dragon Age was being fed through the Mass Effect sausage grinder, you shouldn't be. Yes, they've adopted the conversation wheel and cinematic, fully-voiced speeches, but that's no cause for alarm – after all if you developed an awesome tool and storytelling technique you'd want to use it in more than one game too. Bioware has made some great alterations -- sharper graphics, satisfying combat and cinematic conversations. I can't wait to spend more time with this game.
This kinda made me feel 10 mtimes better about the VO, tbh, because it makes sense.

Thanks for the extract Lucy, I dare not reading complete article for fear of spoilers. I spoiled DAO, I want to start DA2 "fresh". If the journalist is true, it's great.

That's a weight of my mind although I do have a very optimistic attitude towards DA2 anyway.

The problem is when you *take away* things during the process. I saw it happen with ME2, and I'm hoping they don't go fable on this.
Doesn't help that they aren't releasing a demo video. if it's good enough for mass consumption at a conference, it's good enough for the rest of us to look at. We get it, it's a work on progress, but you still need to keep people interested to keep a sale.

Please people, grow up and don't cry like a little boy that doesn't get candy.
First what makes you a bigger fan tham someone in Germany? Who said he isn't a fan.
Second you're not dating bioware and bioware has certainly not promissed to buy you a drink.
It's a convention just like the E3 is, so yeah people will see somethings a few days earlier than those who wheren't there , they bought tickets to do so.
The release of a game play trailer, is something that goes through a marketing department, and those people need some time. just like every body else needs time, to arrange certain things.
So give those people a break, they haven't forgotten you.

The Witcher 2 looks real promising, I like the hand to hand combat and being able to knock out enemies instead of killing them.
Bioware should really implement a stealth system in their games like the one in witcher 2.

Get off your high horse. We have a right to see if a product is something we want to follow. Don't like it? Get the devs to ban us.

See i know how it works as it does, What i did question is the judgment of doing it this way. It's a convention just like the E3 is, so yeah people will see somethings a few days earlier than those who wheren't there , they bought tickets to do so.

I made that mistake once. If I'd known the difference between anecdote and antidote my friend Timmy would still be alive. He got bitten by a copperhead and I spent 20 minutes reading him funny stories from readers digest...Anacronian Stryx wrote...
