Did they explain why Hawke is so special in the first place? I'd be ****** if DA2 comes out and I cant use the hands thing he used to kill the demon.

no but people have theories and i'm sure they'll tell us when the game comes out. In a form of backstory maybe? All I know is, like you, i wanna be able to do the same thing he did to that demon thing in the trailer as he did.

I am guessing the Hawke in the trailer was a blood mage.

Yes, everyone who is not a narcissist is irritated by "Is it just me..." or "Bioware plz read..." or "I need to know..." or "Thoughts on..." threads.  It's so friggin attention whoring kiddie and annoying.  I guess that's just how it is for the Reality TV generation.

That's the point of the game's plot. You don't know who Hawke is and so you're finding out what makes him special as you play along.

Yeah. It's a way to be passive-aggressively douchey. Saying you don't like something as "it's just me" is a way to duck out if everyone doesn't agree with you, or be gloriously right if everyone does.

Don't take this the wrong way, OP, you're being pretty polite. I'm referring to the many other kinds of "Is It Just Me..." threads. ^_^

passive aggressively douchey that was the most epic thing i ever heard

I just want to say, yes, I would have rather that Bioware would wait and release the game two years from now. It would really help to flush out the story, get a feel for what others want, and begin polishing things up. Lets take a look at some of Bioware's old titles though, Baldur's gate it came out 1998, BG2 in 2000! BG2 was a GRREAT game. Mass Effect 1, 2007, Mass Effect 2, 2010. These were all great titles, so I believe that Bioware CAN do it, but I understand your concern.

No one can really say if they're rushing it unless they've revealed when development on DA2 started and they haven't released much gameplay footage yet so no one apart from people who played the demo can say that it looks rushed or not.

Remember, DA was finished in spring 2009 - after that only the console ports (and DLC, of course) did happen. So, two years are a rather sound development time, at least for a game that uses an established and only slightly tweaked engine. BG2, just to name one example, came also around two years after BG1, like Kengi said.

Yep, be nowhere near as polished as a Blizzard game.
Also attempting to chop game up across platforms with mish-mesh mentality because people bought it on the console and ruined it as a series, thanks for that.

THEN GO PLAY BLIZZARD! ... troll.

no it just really annoys me, especially after taking two college classes that we spent and entire class period each discussing this... i was headdesking throughout the entire thing and the guy next to me who didn't understand anything in that lecture wasn't helping...:pinched:

I recently graduated HS and it still bothers me.. so don't worry buddy, you weren't the only one /headdeasking. Posted Image

It's still your title on my thing.

NOW! Getting to the topic...
IMO, the game will be as epic as DA:O (maybe even better?) I'd rather find out in the game why Hawke is so special, rather than hear it from Gaider or Laidlaw. I don't want just a dev telling me, I want to see it for my own eyes. (no offense devs, you're all grand in my book!) Anyway, I'm not sure which DLC you're talking about, I'm afraid. Currently I'm playing the Golem one and I think it's pretty good.

VittoriaLandis - I am still in High school.

On topic - I think people are just going to buy the game for Hawke because most of the pople are now Hawke fan boys or girls.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Awakening not even made by the same team as Origins? So it had more going against it than being rushed.

Two years seems pretty standard for sequels. That's about the time from ME to ME2 and the latter was far better, IMO.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm buying it for the excellent writing Bioware games usually have, not for a default character whose face and personality are going to be replaced by a creation of my own.

You do make excellent points.I only played KOTOR and KOTOR 2 and EOJ and  DAOthough so I don't recall other Bioware games.

Apparently it's really hard.  The best part is how spelling has become meaningless now.  Just loot at Twitter.  I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU to try and read Marquis Daniel's twitters (celtics player)  everything is
"Dey r gunna do dat HOMES!  Bleave n CHRIST"  jibberish

Forget "their, they're, there and to, two, too"  it's "der, 2..."
