Mystrana, you hate Garrus for various reasons. We get that. And your point beyond that is what exactly?

I wonder if Garrus was bullied as a child.
It is probably a big problem in turian schools, given the martial environment they cultivate.

However, we definently failed on keeping the ten pages about Garrus.![]()
I think we failed five pages ago.

Well actually, he says that your basically the only friend he has left in this "screwed up galaxy." Close enough I guess.
Isn't that a romance specific line? I swear that I've never gotten that one since I don't proposition him.

The point in debating is gaining new data so opinions can be adjusted and bettered. At least that's what I think. If nobody is willing to yield on either side, it becomes an exercise in futility or else a useless hobby that you happen to find fun. And I don't target the other parties because I know them and their motivations. You are the one I don't know so your motivations are what is unclear to me. I think the whole debate should be called off on both sides.

Yeah it's a romance specific line (which sucks), but the sentiment is still there whether or not you romance him.

I agree, but the manner in which said negativity is couched makes all the difference. If you know what you will say will ****** the other person off than it means that person won't think clearly and so will probably form their arguments in a faulty manner. If people really want to hear their opponents' reasoning in a sound manner, I think negativity must be couched in an objective and unsensational manner. I have inadvertently started too much melodrama over misplaced sensationalist language that I used to color my arguments. One example in particular leaps to my mind.

I don't like Garrus at all. In ME1, my two least favorite characters were Garrus and Tali. I honestly have no idea what makes them so popular.
In the first game, Tali just told me about the quarians and said she was homesick. Honestly she just felt like a Quarian Wiki page to me. Garrus at least had more of a character, but he just kept complaining about how he couldn't leave C-sec because of his father, and he couldn't be a spectre because of his father, and he couldn't shoot down the Doctor cause he the plane was filled with hostages, he just sounded like a spoiled teenager that didn't get his way. God, do something about it then. He finally comes on board with me but not once did he really stand up for himself. At the end, it was always, 'Yea, you're right, Shepard.'
Then the second game he just acts like I never said anything and he's even worse than before. That said, he was a little better in the second game, felt like he had more of a backbone, better sense of humor, too. Then again, I never really got to talk to him before he was talking about 'wrestling'. Also glad to see Tali had a personality in the second game.
However, I don't hate any of my companions, just don't like some of that much. I made sure everyone was going to live through that final mission. I also took Tali and Garrus along on the final mission just in case because I figured it'd be harder for them to die that way. If I could have Kaidan, Ashley (if she was still alive), Wrex, and Liara back in excange for the whole ME2 squad, I'd totally do it.
This happens to me all the time though, my favorite characters always get knocked off. I still remember watching the original power rangers and suddenly all three of my favorite rangers, red, black, and yellow, are never seen again. It was so devastating

Nah, I think my language was perfect.
Hopefully people won't ever make the mistake again that Garrus is some universally loved god-character.
