This is true. Though Tali did remarkably well in that survey too, considering how many hate votes she seems to get here in the BW forums. Perhaps it's because the creator of the survey branched out their sample to other forums such as IGN and Gamespot, and they haven't been exposed to the Talimancer phenomenon in those parts of the internet.

The whole Tali self thing has me confused because you make her out to be the most selfish character in the way to "attack her" and point to the only one time that she ever asks for yo uto do soemthing for her.  as proof she's Evil level selfish.

I didn't say she was the most selfish character, nor did I say that she was evil. I'm saying that she puts her personal interests (her father's reputation, her personal pilgrimage quest) before the law. That's selfish behavior. 

I'm not attacking her; I'm stating what I've seen. She has a disregard for the law and that's why I don't like her or Garrus. 

 

Congratulations for attempting to make some sort of point in a youtube clip. You are truly a prime example of the average BSN poster.

I think that Tali is so polarizing because of the Tali maniacs, not the character herself. Say if Garrus was "cut" from ME 3, many people would be mad; however, if Tali were "cut", there would be a Bioware massacre.

Sadly it's true even though many of the so called "tali fanatics" that they point to are either outsiders of the rest of the Tal icommunity or Troll posing as Tali fans s others can point to them as an example.

I don't think she's evil. I think she's a bit of a spoiled brat who needs to learn what true friendship is.

She is selfish, and her selfishness has caused me to lose a lot of respect for her. She was in my top 3 characters in ME1. After ME2 specifically she just plummeted. Asking me to aid her in hiding treason and war crimes and then yelling at me afterwards because "a real friend wouldn't have done that" is just BS.

Call my logical reasoning "laughable" if you wish. It's really pretty black and white.

Seeing everything in black and white is evil, you can't ignore the grey areas. This is how Garrus's outlook on life is, and that's why he is ruthless.

I just don't see this selfishness your talking about. Also she's one of Shepards truest friends. She the only one that doesn't give Shepard crap from convo #1 on FP. By "Evil" I mean the way you seem to vicously attack her character. on the single time she actually asks you to do something for her.  So she can't be made at you because yo ujus truined the only thing that mattered in her life? 

Again If some one who you thought was a close friend ruinbed the lives of your family, you would say " a real friend wouldn't have done that" I'm skeptical on this bit too.  So you'd say "thank you for ruining the lives of my family your the best of friends!"

I've been over this before. I will recreate the scenario here for you, though.

Let's say my best friend is named Susan. I've known Susan since I was a child and we've been through thick and thin and she's one of my, as you put it, "truest friends".

Now let's say my dad starts committing treason and war crimes against the country in which Susan and I live.

Susan and I discover this at the same time, and find him dead. I beg Susan not to expose these war crimes, these treasonous actions, to our government because my father's reputation will be tarnished and he'll be labeled a traitor.

She decides to expose the crimes.

Now I turn around and yell at her and say she isn't my friend. When she tries to explain that she did it because it was morally right I yell some more and tell her that I don't care because a real friend wouldn't have done that. Then I hate Susan forever! 

I'm pretty damned selfish.

Tali has been a close friend of Shepard for three years, but has adored and followed in her father's footsteps her whole life. By releasing the information, you destroy everything that she and her father have been working for. Her attitude is not selfishness, but instead misplaced anger towards how her father ignored her.

There at least two things I referenced, not just the one.

If I focus on one over another that's because I feel it carries more weight.  Asking someone to cover up war crimes that were responsible for many deaths is a little more serious than paying back a favor.

And by "favor" I mean when she joins with Shepard after saving her life.

I'm okay with Garrus. I just get annoyed when people compare him to Batman. Garrus has no problem with killing a bad guy. Not killing the bad guy is a very important part of Batman's character. He doesn't do it. At all.
