When I play my Sheps they have already given her their reasons for why they want to reveal the data and she has rebutted it with her own reasons. We've both explained our stance to the other and it's apparent she won't budge. Why is it selfish to have a make or break issue in a relationship with someone? That may mean you aren't really good friend material after all, but it doesn't have to mean you are selfish. I don't understand how refusing to compromise your morality or what you feel is best makes you selfish. Stubborn, okay. Foolish, perhaps even. But not necessarily selfish.
Because she does the same thing in ME1 about the geth data. The only difference is that BioWare retcons her into being a Shepard fangirl again at the start of ME2 regardless of your ME1 decisions.
Here we have 2 different occasions where Tali makes a request and regardless of how Shepard justifies the refusal of said request she says she wants nothing to do with you, that she's leaving, that you're not her friend, etc.
It tells me that she only cares about what she wants. If she doesn't care why you refuse her (and she doesn't) then her child-like tantrums must be based on the mere fact that you didn't do what she wanted you to do.
And in the first scenario you aren't even refusing her; you're telling to make an official request., and she still acts like you just punted her pet kitten out the airlock.
The second time would have been a little more forgivable, as her father did just die. Maybe she will repent for her hissy fit in ME3 and I will think a little more highly of her again. But she showed no sign of that in ME2, and that's what I have to work with here.
