I don't recall "helping her on her pilgrimage" ever being an official part of the deal when Tali joins Shepard. If your Shepard wants to help, fine. If not, that was never a prerequisite. Udina thinks she has useful skills and knowledge, and Shepard either concedes to that notion or agrees.

Her reaction is selfish. She agreed to join up and help stop Saren. The geth data is a miscellaneous thing found on the side of that journey. Tali sees it and says she wants it; Shepard never agreed to help with her pilgrimage, nor did Shepard ever say she would give Tali any geth data she found.

And still, all Shepard does is tell Tali to make an official request of the Alliance because those files are technically theirs. Tali's reaction is, "What?! You won't help me just because I asked?! You won't do as I say!? WHY NOT?! I HATE YOU!!"

The fanservice argument kind of bugs me a little. Sure I could agree with that. But if they were to bring back Liara, Wrex, and Ashley/Kaiden in Mass Effect 2 but completely blow off Garrus and Tali would you have any problems with that?

he's definitely kind of an idiot, and has very questionable morals and attitudes.



I'm not sure whether he's supposed to be viewed in that light or whether we're supposed to buy that he's a right-minded, morally courageous vigilante hero, but I didn't.



Never paid him much mind, to be honest.

No it isnt. Shooting is what this game is all about. If you think otherwise, you are wrong, simple as.

On my last playthrough (which was a chore) I breezed through the game ignoring everyone, running their stupid errands and tying everything up. The game isnt "about the squadmates", and its not "character driven". Its about a bunch of stupid missions, almost all of which mostly involve shooting hundreds of mooks, and how none of them tie together in any way other than a potential (and you have to go out of your way to get it) ending where Shepard might die.

Miranda, Mordin, Samara, Grunt, Morinth

But everyone who doesn't like Garrus is a ME2 hater now?

The Best Shepard I ever had was 51% Paragon and 49%Renegade. All of the choices were unlocked.

I love how this has turned into "you guys must be renegades and all renegades are evil". Really? That's about the most silly argument I've ever seen.



Again, my dislike of both Garrus and Tali comes from the fact that they have a blatant disregard for rules and law. That doesn't sit well with me. And though I don't like either of them, I kept them alive in hopes that maybe ME3 will change my mind about them.

Stupid question: if you disliked ME 2 so much, why are you posting in a forum for the likeability of Garrus? Go to the ME 2 haters thread!

Say what you want about them but the truth is they want to stick with Shepard until the very end, maybe Garrus more then Tali. And really the thing about Garrus is that he still kind of looks up to shepard as a mentor. So when you give him some **** about what he did on Omega and have him not kill Sidonis you might also be shaping him into a better character in Mass Effect DLC/ Mass Effect 3.
