Hahaha... it's gonna be Cailan. I just know it.

Oh, and keep in mind that animated faces tend to be modeled after the person who's voicing them. So, who does the canon male Hawke look like out of that list?

Vaughn/Bryant's actor I believe. Sort of.

That's who I'm betting on.

Pic Here

Yep. I'm convinced.

I hope it's that guy. You know, that guy. That guy.. the one with the hair and the face?

In all seriousness, I hope it's that delusional guy in Ostagar near where you find Ser Jory. The one that's lying on top of some sort of.. bench while rambling nonsense? I liked his.. voice.

Vaughn's voice would also be accepted. I wonder what he sounds like when he's trying to be good. Mhmm..

Cailan's voice, however.. I might have to play as a female if that were the case.

Cailan's character did sort of ****** me off after going through human noble, and then once after I told him that, you know, my life was sort of just torn apart, I was kicked out of my house and my mom and dad murdered in front of me and I *just* told him about it, he goes, "Ha! Eamon just wants in on the glory!" Little too soon for a mood shift, man!

He's a King. With a Blight nipping at his heels. And all of his family is dead, too. Were you expecting him to commiserate with you?

Though hearing this does excite me. So people do dislike Cailan! Great news!

I'm still betting on Little Oren voicing Hawke.

Maybe it's whoever did the human male voice set that everyone seemed to hate? I don't think I could get half way through a "Can I get you a ladder, so you can get off my back?" before forcibly shut down my computer.

Being a King doesn't excuse you from being a dick! Well...it does, but you're still a dick. He can go be cheery around people who didn't just have their families slaughtered.

Most of the Origins are particularly tragic. Having him go, "ah, yes, that's horrible," is more than most games give us. He couldn't linger on the subject for very long or the conversation would drag on. His rapid mood change was more out of an attempt to keep it going than him being a douche.

Actually, it was exactly where the Origin-specific dialogue ended and the one-size-fits-all started, which is probably why it seemed jarring. It was sort of like telling your best friend you had cancer, then after he said he was sorry and went quiet for a bit, started talking about how great it was that he just saved $200 dollars by switching to Geico.

"Hey Bill, let's go to Disney World!"
"Tom.. I've got cancer."
"I'm so sorry man...

I'll take that as a no?

Personally I just attributed it to him being completely naive and not actually knowing how to deal with the situation. I didn't mind Cailan, he had good intentions and all, but he did come across as a bit daft and completely inexperienced with the world (no doubt thanks to his kingly upbringing).

I don't know if he has a sizeable hatedom, but there have always been players who felt Cailan was indeed the naive fool/idiot/boy that Loghain thought he was.

Yeah, that's how most people do see him. He is naive, but a lot of people seem to forget that he lost his mother when he was young and his father not long before Origins. It's a lot of pressure, and both Maric and Alistair are a good compass to how Theirin men deal with pressure. They try to dust it off and make little of it. Joking means you're not lingering on the subject anything, and that's what matters. His transition just isn't very tactful.

Cailan's voice would fit Hawke pretty well, honestly. Hawke looks early 20's to me and Cailan sounds very early 20's.

I wouldn't have thought that Cailan was unpopular enough for the description to fit, but perhaps that's not the case. ;) I thought Peter Bramhill did an excellent job, and if there have to be voiced PCs, well, I think he'd be a good choice.

Not to mention he did cheat on Anora quite a bit if I recall.  Anora may be a bit of a ****, and supposedly barren, but he still shouldn't have cheated on his wife (Hell, I think Cailan was the one who was sterile since he didn't sire any bastard children).

Hey, saving money by switching to Geico is the best news anyone can get.   That beats out the bad news of having cancer any day. Image IPB

Pffft, no son of Maric Theirin would be sterile.

Okay, now that I have scanned through youtube, that guy who voices Vaughan is a little more fitting. So far, I know no one who does not deeply dislike him... Besides, Peter Bramhill sounds too nice ><

Well, Hawke isn't going to be strictly "evil" or "badass." They need someone with range, and picking someone who leans heavily upon being gruff or hardcore wouldn't be able to pick up a lighter, more "paragon"-y tone. I like both of them as choices, though. Vaughan's VA has a smexy voice.

Depends on how you play. He doesn't sound too nice for a Hawke I'd play. Besides, he is an actor, you know. They can do all kinds of different voices. That's why they call it acting. ;)
