I wouldn't want to see Cailan playing Hawke as he looked too young in Origins.

of course, if you listen to Steve Blum's voice in guild wars 2, man...THAT! is the most badass voice acting ever

I think this needed it's own thread after Gaider dropped it in the VO recognition thread. Commence listing of every Origins male voice actor and analyzing whether they are "popular" anyone?David Gaider wrote...

Whoever it is will have to be veeery multi-talented, and the pressure would be very high.
They
are indeed. It wasn't easy to cast, as we required someone who could do
all three tones convincingly without sounding like a completely
different person each time. When people find out who the male PC is, I'm
going to laugh-- he was in Origins, but his character wasn't very
popular. Regardless, he has a wonderful voice and is quite
capable.

Steve Blum?? (oghren's VA amongst many minor charecters) oh i am intrigued by this now....

But he also voiced Murdock, who was quite popular, if a minor character...faction699 wrote...
I think we shouldn't rule out the people who voiced the PC's. Some big names there, like Mark Meer and Robin Sachs (Zaeed)

So, the voices you might have hated might sound reasonable this time round.

He did Ser Bryant as well, right? And did very well with it.ninja0809 wrote...
Vaughn's voice is pretty badass IMO.......I think it would be a good choice
I'm still holding out for CailanHawke!

@Calla S - oh sorry! I wasn't ignoring your earlier post or anything, I just didn't know the name of the actor. I actually quite like him, but can't imagine him being a bit of bastard or really badass, hmm...
@Marquiseondore - sorry, I'm no good with names! Just out of interest, did you like the voice acting? Did it suit Hawke?
I did like the voice acting; it suits Hawke.I must admit I was expecting (going by appearances) for him to sound older or have a much deeper voice. So I was pleasantly surprised.
Really? I've been expecting a 'badass' manly voice that would completely **** up my immersion. Hmm.

Agreed! The moment Cailan's VA comes up, everyone expects some pansy, but Peter Bramhill does have a very nice speaking voice. Just add a little sarcastic lilt or deepen it a bit (which I'm positive he's capable of), and it'd fit the different personalities of Hawke perfectly.BrotherWarth wrote...
Cailan's VA, Peter Bramhill, doesn't have a super-girly voice for a regular speaking voice. His voice would easily work well for the sarcastic and even-tempered tones judging by this video.

I hope it's him.
On another note, I hope Jennifer Hale makes a cameo in DA:2, at least.
I preferably don't want her as my Hawke, since she's the voice of my Shepard, and that would be a bit odd for me.

His accent is very similar to mine so I know I'm going to get really attatched to the idea of him as Hawke now.

Personally I loved Fergus Cousland - Shaun Dingwall. He's British alright and really only got a couple minutes of screen time. And he's definitely got the sarcastic/joking down already.
I think Hawke is going to be a more gruff voice. People like Jowan or Cailin seemed too "soft" for me. The default Hawke that we've seen seems like kind of a badass. I just don't picture some of those weaker voices fitting well.
Has anyone said Murdoch?
Or Lloyd?

David Rintoul is an interesting guess. I was watching the 1983 version of Pride and Prejudice where he played Mr. Darcy.
