It amuses me the amount of people who've told me "Cailan's not hated! People like him!" Yeah, 'kay.MariSkep wrote...
The only annoying thing about Cailan was the hair.Lurklen wrote...
I'm betting it's Cailan/Peter Bramhill which wouldn't be bad, I mean Cailan's voice was far less annoying than what he was actually saying.
And the attitude.
And the armor.
And that stupid god damn smile he'd get when excited.
And...
Bramhill for Hawke.

Steve Valentine (Alistair) is a very close second.
Both Voices sounded the closest to what I heard from trying out the "demo"

A supporting role like Flemeth with a few key speeches (that probably don't vary much) is probably the largest part they'll give to an actor with movie credits.
I would love to have Alistair's VA back, but that doesn't seem to fit Gaider's hint.

hmm.. I just listened to Jon Curry's voice, took a while to find something and he has a lot of range and does voices that sound nothing like Zevran. that might fit the bill better. I would have to hear a "ferelden" type bit from him.
That might fit the bill, Im unsure how he can pull off a "ferelden" accent though, but did well with a "antivan" one

So, either Loghain, Bhelen, Howe, Vaughn or Beraht. ( I could name others, but these are the prime examples )

Huh. He pretty much sounds just like Zevran but with a different accent. I can't believe I never really noticed that before.
Anyway I like him but you can't really say Zevran wasn't a popular character in Origins, so that puts him out of the running.

damn...Wally wingert plays Bhelen. I heard some snippets. Wingert has been in multiple games and seems to have the chops. But I dont think he was that unpopular was he?
Most people, even from those that support him, think he is a scumbag. So no, Bhelen isn't that well liked.

DG said the character was "not very popular," not "unpopular." The fact that Cailan is disliked by many is enough to back up the statement, in my opinion.Costin_Razvan wrote...

Honestly, I don't see how anyone could think Tim Curry or Simon Templeman could even be in the running. Doesn't make sense.

Because a good voice actor like Templeman or Curry could not really portray someone much younger then they are....sure.
I would have fainted with happiness if it was James Harper (the guy who voiced Arcturus Mengsk from StarCraft). But alas, no.
Really Knight, you are way to fascinated with Mengsk
Though seriously. I am thinking Bhelen's actor is the most probable candidate.

Agreed. I love both of their voices but they're way, way too old for the role.

Because Tim Curry has far better things to do than undertake such a vast VA job and Simon Templeman has a very, very distinct voice that doesn't exactly smack of a 20-something champion.

I dont really think, looking or being old has anything to do with voice. Simon Templeman does have an older albeit gruffier voice tho, but Tim has the ability to change his voice.
However I do think Bhelen's VA fits the bill nicely.

What I meant by that is that they sound older. Too old for a 20-something.

It's up to Tim Curry, but if he wants to undertake it, it's his choice. As Bioware pointed out in the past, actors come to them they don't go to actors, and seriously saying that Curry only has a voice for Villains is an insult for someone who has voiced hundreds of different characters.
As for Templeman, in Battle for Middle Earth I he voices one of the units there, and he doesn't sound ANYTHING like he does in Dragon Age or Mass Effect 2, hell if I had no looked it up on wiki I would have never known.

Ah, yes, because I am the first to have such an opinion of Tim Curry. Surely I meant it as an insult and not a compliment, since anyone with vocal cords can actually pull off voicing a decent villain. Pfft.Costin_Razvan wrote...

If you'll read my comment over, I did mention that my stance against Templeman voicing Hawke is that he doesn't sound like a 20-something champion. Because, oh, look at that, he really, truly doesn't, no matter his emotional range.
