Interesting thread. I'm hoping it's Nick Boulton.  He seems to fit the profile-  authentic accent, fairly versatile(check out his demo reel), experienced, affordable and voiced an unpopular character in DA:O.

I'm really hoping it's not Desmond Askew/Jowan... that would be unacceptable.

I HOPE it's this. I loved Niall. He was one of my favorites. <3

What about the guy who plays Mouse?

His VA has to go from playing a weak animal to playing a human to playing a demon.

Gravedigger Shen? Chris Postle voiced that character IIRC.

wow, he's got a good voice that sounds like Hawke's.  I wish for the life of me I paid more attention to hawke's voice when I had the chance.

They
are indeed. It wasn't easy to cast, as we required someone who could do
all three tones convincingly without sounding like a completely
different person each time. When people find out who the male PC is, I'm
going to laugh-- he was in Origins, but his character wasn't very
popular. Regardless, he has a wonderful voice and is quite
capable.

I think this needed it's own thread after Gaider dropped it in the VO recognition thread. Commence listing of every Origins male voice actor and analyzing whether they are "popular" anyone?

UPDATE - List of all male Origins voice actors HERE

I bet on Bhelen's voice actor.
Not very popular character for sure.

I don't know if Bhelen is popular, but I don't think he has much of a hatedom, either.  A lot of people like him because he winds up being a competent ruler in comparison to Harrowmont.

Oooh good find there with that demo reel. I'm even more into the idea of Boulton as Hawke (if that's possible). I can see why some people might have thought he sounded Cailan-ish.

I'm hoping it's Nicolas Boulton. Vaughan was awesome (despicable, but his acting is great) and I loved the way Ser Bryant sounded. He also did the helpful refugee guy standing outside the tavern in Lothering.

Jowan's voice is great for Jowan but I don't think it'd suit Hawke. He needs a deeper voice.

I'm really hoping LadyHawke isn't going to get stuck with a screechy soprano voice, like all the human female soundsets in Origins (yuck). My own voice is pitched more around Claudia Black's level - I'm hoping for something around that range. High pitched voices make my ears bleed.

I have a mod that let's me use all the race's voices for any character (of appropriate gender), so most of my elves and humans end up with the dwarf voices, haha.

I really want Nick Boulton to be Hawke, but I mean we'll find out in good time. I'm intrigued at what Marian Hawke sounds like, though. We know that her VO was in one of the ME games and might ahve been in DAO in a minor role, but beyond that no info =(. And sincce the DAO was a 'maybe' we can't even narrow it down to those VOs who were in both.

That's Dominic Keating aka Malcolm Reed from Star Trek: Enterprise according to the toolset.  Was Mouse disliked by the fans though?

Not really the thread for this, but my guess for Lady Hawke's VA:

Belinda Cornish- She's from London, voiced Rana Thanoptis and did the 'profile reconstruction sequence' in Mass Effect, voiced Goldanna and several others in Origins (plus the Baroness in Awakening). She fits the experienced/affordable/versatile/native-accent criteria that I'm sure BioWare was looking for. She also has the local thing going for her since she lives in Edmonton. Not that it matters, but apparently she's also married to Mark Meer. Sample of Cornish's voice in Mass Effect.

See, I don't hear it at all. Then again, I still don't think someone could get "Oh! That sounds like the guy who voiced Cailan," out of Boulton's voice, especially not after listening to the reel. Then again, I've made it pretty obvious where I stand and this post is entirely useless due to my blinding bias. Hah.

Jim Morrison came to me in a dream last night and confirmed that Desmond Askew will be voicing Male Hawke. I raise my wager to three million space ruples.

You'd think with all the people playing demos you'd have one person figure out who the VA is. I've seen about a dozen accounts, and they all end with, 'Unfortunately I didn't listen to the voice so I can't tell who the VA is.' They all sound like Bioware mind-wiped them when they left the booth.

SirOccam, who has set up the very useful what do we know so far thread had a chance to play the demo and this is what he had to say:

SirOccam wrote...

Speaking of Hawke, like someone mentioned, my money's on Nicholas Boulton. I would say I'm 90% certain. I could easily imagine him saying "so young, so...vulnerable." ;) That said, it was ridiculously loud (and like an idiot I chose the machine closest to the presentation room so it was that much worse). Everyone else's voice was much less distinctive, but still nice. If it weren't so loud I might have been able to make guesses. But even with headphones I had to strain to hear.

I thought I'd post this here.

I fiddled around with the video I made of Peter Bramhill's dialogue as Cailan and I adjusted the pitch the tiniest bit to make him sound deeper (as the VA was - evidently - asked to do). With quite interesting results, I might add. The first bit is shifted down once and the second is shifted down twice. The third is shifted up again to sound just a bit deeper than the original.

Hmm...definitely sounds more appropriate, now. Older, more kingly. Cailan's voice was perfect, but with a deeper resonance, I wouldn't mind him as Hawke. Vaughn always had a fair amount of poncey snob in his voice.

In any case, I don't mind if it's either, I just would prefer Vaughn's.

Who else did Bramhill do?

Yeah, that's how I feel, too. I'd prefer Bramhill, but I wouldn't completely neglect male Hawke if he was voiced by Boulton. I just think Peter would do a grand job, is all.

He only voiced Cailan, if his imdb is correct. He did do a few voices for Risen, though.
