Gimme Nolan North =)

Blergh, I'm burnt out on Nolan North.  Personally, I'd like Douglas Weston (the voice of Kolgrim).  His voice was suitably imposing sounding to me.

I like Nolan North when he's doing a Nolan North-y voice. Desmond Miles and Nathan Drake are pretty different in terms of character, but his voice matches them both excellently.

However, again, his voice is too distinct for me to respect the character over the actor. Also, I'd prefer a British actor to do a British accent.

Sound samples of Peter Bramhill as King Cailan.

That took an obscene amount of time to render and upload. It's still processing, but it should be available (if a bit fuzzy-looking)!

I'm betting on Steve Blum. His voice has a ton of ranges, and Oghren certainly fits the "unpopular" label.

No. I am stick and tired of Blum. I heard him in DAO, Awakaing and ME2, I would rip my hair out if he is voicing Hawke.

It wouldn't make any sense for it to be Steve Blum for a number of reasons. Not the least is the fact that I believe Bioware referred to Oghren as a 'fan favourite' character when he was included in Awakening. Regardless of whether you believe that to be the case, Bioware obviously got that impression from somewhere and it would be strange for their lead writer to suddenly consider him an unpopular character.

Add to this him not being British, as well as him having a very well known voice (in any number of tones) and it looks very unlikely that it would be him.

Most people posting in this thread seem to think it is either Peter Bramhill or Nicholas Boulton. Both of those actors voiced nobles in DA:O (royalty in the case of Bramhill), so if it is either one I hope they are capable of adding a common touch to their voice over work with Hawke. Or at least so long as I'm correct in assuming that Hawke is a commoner. If Hawke is a commoner his voice shouldn't sound as refined or polished as nobility.

I agree. That's one of my main qualms with Nicholas Boulton, actually. I have't heard much of his work, but he does sound outwardly noble most of the time. Bramhill, however, has a much more common tone in his actual speaking voice. I found that even Cailan had a slightly common tone in comparison to most of the nobility.

I know it's stereotyping but I find Bramhill doesn't have a beard voice.

Hawke won't always have a beard, so that matters little. ^_^

But he will at times, thus requiring a beard voice. Beard voices are beard-neutral allowing for non-bearded individuals to still be able to talk even though they lack the proper materials.

Beards.

You guys do realize Bramhill is an actor, yes? That usually means you can alter your voice. Even amateur actors can pull that off. It's not that difficult.

Exactly! Frank's John Madden could be Hawke, Frank's Sean Connery could be Hawke's brother, Frank's Terry Bradshaw could be the Templar...

Although some of the time voice altering sounds.. weird.
