You guys do realize Bramhill is an actor, yes? That usually means you can alter your voice. Even amateur actors can pull that off. It's not that difficult.
To be fair that then invalidates your criticism of Nicholas Boulton, no?

Although some of the time voice altering sounds.. weird.
I didn't mean electronically. That does sound odd most of the time. I know many men who sit normally at a baritone range, but that doesn't mean they can't shift to a tenor or even a bass if they desire it. It's just a matter of finding what you're comfortable with and sticking with it, which could easily be why they had to have Hawke's VA re-record some lines.Dave of Canada wrote...

I suppose. But it's a lot easier imagining Bramhill deepening his voice to fit Hawke as opposed to Boulton raising his enough to be mistaken for Cailan in the demo.Apollo Starflare wrote...

I'm trying to keep my hopes around a normal level as it is. I only wish we could find out sooner rather than later so I can start hanging my head in shame when it's said not to be Bramhill.Apollo Starflare wrote...
At least this has meant that loads of forumites will rush onto the forums to shout about how they guessed who it was aaages ago as soon as the VA gets revealed.

I agree. That's one of my main qualms with Nicholas Boulton, actually. I have't heard much of his work, but he does sound outwardly noble most of the time. Bramhill, however, has a much more common tone in his actual speaking voice. I found that even Cailan had a slightly common tone in comparison to most of the nobility.Aedan_Cousland wrote...
Most people posting in this thread seem to think it is either Peter Bramhill or Nicholas Boulton. Both of those actors voiced nobles in DA:O (royalty in the case of Bramhill), so if it is either one I hope they are capable of adding a common touch to their voice over work with Hawke. Or at least so long as I'm correct in assuming that Hawke is a commoner. If Hawke is a commoner his voice shouldn't sound as refined or polished as nobility.

Hahaha... it's gonna be Cailan. I just know it.
Oh, and keep in mind that animated faces tend to be modeled after the person who's voicing them. So, who does the canon male Hawke look like out of that list?

Sound samples of Peter Bramhill as King Cailan.
That took an obscene amount of time to render and upload. It's still processing, but it should be available (if a bit fuzzy-looking)!
