These guys need to be in the game.

Although some of the time voice altering sounds.. weird.

With the subtitles, it's like I'm actually reading it for the first time with them.

At any rate my money is on Peter Bramhill being the VA. ie Cailan

I don't know... Peter Bramhill is an excellent VA, but I kinda picture someone with a bit of a more manly man voice playing Hawke. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Hmm, I have a hard time picturing Cailan as Hawke. In my mind, Hawke has a deeper (not to deep), sharp/direct voice; whereas Cailan seemed to have a very high/playful voice. Unless Peter Bramhill can alter his voice, I really don't want to play through DA2 constantly thinking: "Where's Cailan?"

Honestly, I just can't see Peter Bramhill as Male Hawke. He doesn't really sound murderous, or even 'slightly violent.' or dark, to me. It's all DISTINCTLY Cailan -- and while I am aware Actors can change their voice -- it just doesn't sit 'right' with me, if that makes any sense.

If it is Peter Bramhill, I cannot play Male Hawke because all I'll imagine in my head is 'GLORIOUS' and it will annoy me to all hell, because that's the only line from Cailan I can hear in my head clearly.

My bet, personally, is on Vaughan's voice actor. Cailan is likely in the same boat as Loghain -- unpopular, true, but not 'very unpopular' as Gaider did in fact say.

Vaughan's VA was good, but his character was..yeah, he fits the bill, in my opinion, more than Cailan's, moreso that he was 'very unpopular' as a character. Cailan was likeable to a degree; unpopular, but I doubt he was 'very' unpopular. I could be quite wrong as that's just my guess, so yeah.

Here we go. In this scene in particular, he does show a good range, but for all I know, I could be shooting the bow in the wrong direction and hitting one of my own teammates in the process instead of the mark.

Vaughan, just like the comment on that youtube you posted, what a distasteful character:P

Just pointing out that "not very popular" doesn't mean "very unpopular."

I'm not going to push the idea that it may be Bramhill; it's all very up in the air at the moment, as very few of us have even heard him. Still, I believe there's a very good chance that it will be him, as "sounding like Cailan" would be a lot easier for Bramhill than the man who voiced Vaughan.

Simon's voice can't change that much, though. His voice is pretty standard. Loghain meeting with Simon Hawke would be like the Gorim / Oghren scene but a thousand times worse.

I don't get it with Jowan, is he really that unpopular? If so, why?

And does "unpopular" here means hated/infamous or just unpopular?

Ser Perth would be pretty unpopular n the sense that he isn't very popular at all (but not disliked).

Someone mentioned Murdock, yes, now THERE is an interesting idea now that I think on it.

Seneschal Varel. I love that guy's voice but he sounds too old for Hawke.

I took it as Gaider saying it was 'very unpopular' but I could have misquoted. All the same, it could be Peter Bramhill, and it could be Vaughan's VA. Both fit the bill pretty well, I think, or they could surprise us and it could be someone like Ser Jory.

Generally, looking at Cailan I did like him -- though It may not have been the consenus of the forums, I always thought he was one of the more popular characters. Could be me placing misplaced thinking, though. Was there a poll made on who the most unliked character was? If not, there should be one. Totally.

My thoughts were people like Ser Jory, Vaughan, or Jowan, based on their characters, were unpopular, or 'very unpopular', and generally centralized towards them. Cailan is quite the possibility, however, still. I wonder if BioWare is giggling that we've guessed who it was all along, but aren't going to actually TELL US until the games out?

Listen to Peter Brahmill just talk in his usual everyday voice. I think he is indeed Hawke.

I myself have my votes on Vaughan, but it's still up in the air. As for Peter's 'normal voice' I don't really hear Hawke sounding like it. It's still up in the air -- and heck, for all we know, it could be Ser Jory -- but yeah. Vaughan, Peter..we won't know until BioWare tells us.
