Ooh, I love that Bethany drawing too. I think I'm going to have to draw Marian and Bethany together next.
Here's my Marian Hawke, updated with a new background and tweaked:
you are very talented <3

Aw, I'm rather fond of Marian. It has a medievally feel to it. I too have flashes of Robin Hood though, I guess we can reverse the gender roles and have Marian rescue dear, sweet, innocent Rob.
Well, Marian is a male name in certain parts of the world. :x
They could've taken a clearly feminine name.
Hmm, I suppose, but you'd probably just run into similar problems at some point. I suppose they could have invented a name, but to be honest I'm rather glad it's a name that doesn't end in -a, like all bar one of the female default names in Origins (Elissa, Solona, Neria, Lyna, Sereda, Natia)...

This. I might be a big fan of Etain as well, but Marian is a great name, and I don't know why people are using Robin Hood as a negative when talking about it? Robin Hood is awesome in all it's forms!
I find Marian sounds plenty feminine enough to me, it isn't a common male name on an international scale anyway and if Robin Hood can manage to avoid confusing people with it's famous Marian I think DA2 will be okay.

Don't want to stretch the thread but, oh well.

Say hello to Ruse Hawke. xD
Fiddled with the armor a bit, and that clawed glove thing is hard to draw. D:
Well, first post in Bioware's forums, I really wish there was a preview option so I know I'm not screwing anything up.
*fingers crossed*

I imagine her to be similar to her sister yet with tougher features and a cool, static wind-like hairstyle.

and a madonna cone-bra breastplate

I have nothing against the name Marian in itself and I think it's a really nice idea with a "medievally" name in the DA world, I just don't like it combined with the surname Hawke.
I meant nothing negative about Robin Hood, it is an awesome tale, I just thought it was funny, when we're talking about DA, that I get images of a pink-dressed female fox with a hen as first-maid(?).

Uiii, my attempt at Lady Hawke.

This is absolutely lovely. Definitely one of my favorites. <3
I might have to pass on the Madonna bra though... although it could make an excellent weapon!

Dang, I'd forgotten about the animated Robin Hood! heheh! Now I feel old. In all seriousness though, I do get that 'Marian Hawke' sounds a tad... odd. 'Hawke' is just a surname that seems to only really work with specific first names. I'm not sure why, 'Garrett' I really like, I think it goes well.
But then one of my friends is named 'William Wolfe', which is probably about as odd

Except me no likey the one with her protecting Varric. I'm waiting to see who else is out there for Lady Hawke besides Varric (if Varric is even a possibility), because I have a height thing. I have to be the shorter one in the relationship, always.
But the other gif has Varric's head on a human body!
...
Varric is STILL shorter then my character. Because she is human, and he is a dwarf.

Okay, I need help with something that has been bothering me for a while. I was wondering, why do people sometimes add in exclamation points after specific words like "Male" or "Female" or "F" or "M" - for example "Fem!Hawke" or "M!Shep"?
I always thought of it as a divide so if people who fail at capitalization put: "fhawke", "Fhawke", "Femhawke", etc. can tell its not all one word.
And I think I just found a new way to say the f-word.
Fhawke!

Someone in the Gamescom impressions thread got a good look at Lady Hawke and said she perfectly matched their idea of what she should look like. I asked them if they could post a more detailed description here but thought I'd give the heads up just in case!
