Now it looks as though they are here to stay.

Have you seen the Dave Broodmother? Dave Harvester? Dave would eat Ponytail for breakfast. But in such a cute and lovable way you couldn't help but just adore him for it.

If you so much as try, I'll stuff your mouth full of beard.

Run, Dave. Run!

But back on topic, is (Lady) Hawke the oldest of the three kids or has that not been commented on yet?

I don't think it's been commented on, but I believe Hawke will be the oldest. It'll give you the drive to protect (or try to protect) both Beth and Carver even more than if you're a younger sibling.

We know that Carver is a younger brother, but we don't know if Bethany is older or younger.

Now I'm curious. Is Bethany an apostate from the very start or did she escape the tower?

I wondered about that myself. I would think that based on what happened with Connor, that if you don't have someone to teach you how to harness your magic and use it, you'd be pretty useless in combat. So someone had to teach her, I think. The question is, who? Maybe someone from the Mages Collective? Or, she did go to the tower, but somehow miraculously escaped. Because escaping the Circle tower is not an easy feat.

Ostagar refugee?

Mm.. but this would make it that she was taken far too young to even remember or care about her family. If she was taken at an older age than the usual children, she'd still be in training and possibly wouldn't have been sent to Ostagar.

Complications!

My guess is that Bethany was an apostate from the start. Escaping the tower when templars track you like hounds seems difficult. But that also leaves room to think that Bethany might not be the best of mages with no proper tutoring.

Maybe Papa Hawke was a mage? Or Mom could be. I can't remember mention of classes for Carver and Mom.

I think Bethany is probably an apostate from the beginning. No idea where her training comes from.

I'm going to go with Bethany having always been an apostate with her magical abilities kept quiet by the family. I have a feeling Hawke's family is going to be based out of a farm, so it wouldn't be that hard to train her in secret should it be the case. However the big question then is who trained her? Considering we havn't heard about there being recognition between the family and Flemeth I'm going to guess that Daddy was also a Mage...

Yay for speculation! While I'm here I'll go with Hawke being the middle sibling, Bethany the oldest. Would mean if you -are- faced with a decision as to whether to follow her when she wages war on the Chantry as some have speculated, that as her younger sibling Hawke would have a degree of hero worship that could make things interesting.

I see I'm late. Not only has it already been speculated that the dad was a mage but you've unveiled his true identity.

Papa was a rolling stone.

You know, this has got me wondering. If you did the Mages Collective quests, you would have noticed all the mages hanging around in Denerim... And there's a templar just standing around with his thumb up his butt. It's like, hey guy! There's renegade mages all over the place! Go unmagic them, or something.

Beeing a bi late to the topic (and having not read all the 40 pages before), it would have been refreshing if Bioware had made the female Hawke the official one instead of the male one they always seem to do.
