Jacob and Thane would be wearing the equivalent of medium armor/leather armor.

Jacob wouldn't wear anything.

Heavy risk...

*sigh* And now I need to get his youtube thing out of my head. :(

Until I see the default Lady Hawke,
I won't know if I will keep her or customize. If she fits my RPG
whimsy of the day, then I'll keep her. However, I almost never take a
preset face.

No doubt I'll do the same. Default Lady Hawke would have to be stunning for me to use her.

Hmm, all these ideas for Lady Hawke's look, they make me think of the Norn women from Guild Wars.

Only, with more armour, and no shape-shifting into a bear.

We all get a little off-topic sometimes--it's only when it goes on for pages that we should get worried.

I do have a question. I am drawing challenged, but came across a software, "ArtRage" that sounded like you don't need to be a Picasso to use it and "pretend' to draw. I simply would like to participate in the Lady Hawke fan art despite my obvious lack of talent.

I really want to see the female version of the protagonist. My question: You will be able to customise the face like in DA:O? Or will every male Hawke have to look like in the trailer and in the gc-demo?

Yes, you'll be able to customise the face.

@Patricia: Never tried ArtRage myself but go for it. Your drawing has to be better than Dave's in any case. :)

@Shevy: Yes you can customize your Hawke of any gender. Trailer Hawke is the face of DA2 for marketing purposes.

@Anarya: I'll download the free version when I get home tonight and see if I can make something that is at least equal to Dave's "spectacular" Lady Hawke.

I've never used that program, but you can try free software like Paint Tool Sai or GIMP.  If your intention is to trace or edit a photo either would work.  There are plenty of tutorials around too.  Or, if you want to really have some fun try dowloading the free 30 day trial of photoshop from the Adobe website.

I've never even heard of it. Out of curiousity, I just got the demo. I generally use GIMP. The poor man's Photoshop.

I use actual Photoshop but only because the BF uses it professionally and I used my student discount on it for him when I was still in school. I'm terrible at it really, compared to him. He is like a freaky Photoshop master.

I actually have Photoshop Elements 6.0 right now.  It is sufficient for editing my vacation photos, making slide shows, etc.  I had an earlier version of full-on Photoshop at one point, but found that I didn't use most of the features.  I've tried creating some DA stuff with my current version pf Photoshop, but it's not very intuitive for me and I don't really want ot bug my graphic artist  friends to get a tutorial.  Meh.  Lets see if I can use a drawing program better.
