Now see, this is just funny. I can just see the Warden tellign him that he has to wear teh special clothes or the cookies won't bake properly.

But then I suppsoe that's probably similar to what s/he told him in the previous picture.

Damn! I kept staring at your avatar for a moment, then realized it's Jill Valentine, not a custom DA character. :(

After drowning myself in tea after seeing those two pics of Sten, I'll make how I THINK Lady Hawke looks with the DA:O engine. Will take some facial hints from both Bethany and... err, whatchyacallin' it? Garret?

Let's see if I can make something... half decent (I am widely known throughout the world to make characters that look awful, but I still fall in love with them... male or female... not that I am bisexual, but you know ;) )

Well, Loria. That is a nice picture you have there. I am off to go play World of Warcraft (I'd play War Hammer, but can't pay subscription fee just yet) and try to bleach the mental scarring that you have induced into my delicate, tender brain by questing with my pet crocolisk, Alistair.

FOR THE HOOOOOORDE!!!!!!

P.s. Lady Hawke is PWNAGE!

It seems that the lack of proper... eyebrows are quite changing what I was hoping to accomplish. Still with a little Gimp edit, retexture the Orlaisian warden armor... Adding the staffsword... It should be done by tomorrow with hope.

Hmmm. Now I'm tempted to try and make a Fem!Hawke in the toolset... goign to try and do that now. It beats any attempt at drawing her.

But back on topic, is (Lady) Hawke the oldest of the three kids or has that not been commented on yet?

I don't think it's been commented on, but I believe Hawke will be the oldest. It'll give you the drive to protect (or try to protect) both Beth and Carver even more than if you're a younger sibling.

I don't entirely buy that--the drive to protect would have a lot to do with personality as well.

Ostagar refugee?

Mm.. but this would make it that she was taken far too young to even remember or care about her family. If she was taken at an older age than the usual children, she'd still be in training and possibly wouldn't have been sent to Ostagar.

While I do think Bethany (and Mage!Hawke!) have always been apostates, I don't think it's inevitable that a Circle mage wouldn't remember or care about their family.  The average age range that people are taken, according to the Wiki, is 6-12.  People taken from the later part of that window probably would have solid memories of their previous lives.

Well, I made the face at least :

Note : the makeup wasn't made yet when I've taken the shot. The makeup is similar to Bethany's one from the screenshots.

Right now, I am arguing with the internet and its incredible slow connection. I'll try fetch some armor pieces from MaleHawke, put a bit of things together... see if I can make her look like Lady Hawke rather than Orlaisian Grey Warden Commander.

You know, this has got me wondering. If you did the Mages Collective quests, you would have noticed all the mages hanging around in Denerim... And there's a templar just standing around with his thumb up his butt. It's like, hey guy! There's renegade mages all over the place! Go unmagic them, or something.

Not everyone would have that reaction.Posted Image

So what do we think about Lady Hawke having short black hair by default? It makes sense that they would go with something similar to Garrett, but I do wonder what style of short hair it is.

I already pictured Hawke with dark hair.Posted Image  While I don't see my Hawke as having hair down to her waist, I do see it as longer than what the default probably is, based on what has been said about it.

I wonder if Lady Hawke is default badass, like femshep in the ME series. Like, she's either good or evil (or both) but she's never indecisive or vulnerable etc.

Part of what I liked about Origins is that the backgrounds gave us multiple starters. Example: as an Alienage elf, she had a tough life and wasn't afraid to spill a little blood and joining the Wardens seemed like a challenge she'd meet head on. My mage character, however, seemed like she got caught up in events, like a leaf tossed about in a windstorm.

Of course, this is all subjective to the player, but I did enjoy the variety. I hope we can take her personality in as many directions, rather than simply good/evil. I loved the distinction between mercy/justice in DAO and I hope to see something similar in DA2.

The devs have said Hawke is not as "binary" as Shepard is, if that's what you're asking.  However, as far as being a badass goes...I honestly can't think of a BioWare RPG that didn't involve the PC becoming a badass, even if roleplayed as a reluctant one.

^Perhaps a poor choice of words. I find fem!shep to be a little sterile because she rarely has any bias or weaknesses (unless you play evil), and I liked variety DAO gave, like classicist dwarves, racist elves, rebellious mages, while still allowing the player to pursue mercy, justice, self-interest etc.

The word "badass," as I understand it, does not preclude biases, weaknesses, or vulnerablity.

Of course. Vulnerability and weaknes are the opposite of badassness.

Not to mention the fact that 'not preclude' means that the characteristics are not mutually exclusive.
