First of all, just be freaking patient, they confirmed you can chose your gender. Isn't it more exciting for you to see it in the game rather than prior to release?
Second, learn from Mass Effect. There isn't going to be any female hawke marketing happening, I can assure you of that. So don't bother, just be patient, and wait a bit.

I'm a guy and I want my lady hawke. I bought tomb raiders games just because I liked playing a game where I could stare at the womans butt. AFter while it gets annoying looking at a male protagonists butt on the screen so power to the woman. and HAIL TO THE HAWKE!

I just going to add my two cents into this thread, but I think what bioware should once they reveal lady hawke is change the poster art of the game. They should make one side of Hawke man and the other woman or make then a equal in size. This would let the fans of the world know that you can be two different genders and it would make people probably happy along with the ladies. We live in a world of both genders. I would hate to have nothing, but sausage fests. Make have of hawke male and have the other half female, but make it a like a line between them. ONce they reveal the concept art for the game. ONe of you talented artist out their should show them how its done and split the two with the magazine image and make bioware bow their heads in shame.
Yes, yes and yes!!!! I would love to see this. Bioware could once again break ground in the gaming industry.

We're "b*tching" about there being no marketing for female Hawke this early because we have learned from Mass Effect what happens to the female aspect of the main character.

I will say Bioware should handle Lady Hawke carefully. Just because she is a woman, but she should have the split on it. witht he concept art once bioware has decided to put her in. Equal footing I say. This world has changed and they say in the dragon age world men and woman of all races fight side by side.

You might see it as b*tching but for the most of this thread a lot of us are just ASKING and not in a nasty manner at all. And since she has not appeared well we are all just throwing up fan art like the Garret and Varric thread and I don't see people condemming those threads for being excited.

Well, an interesting article. I'm surprised he never mentioned how many male gamers are damn tired of playing games with male protagonist. Have you played Dead Space? At some point starting at huge Isaak's ass in the centre of screen becomes really depressing.Loria232 wrote...

HagSpawn it's your Lady Hawke:wizard:
Also, naturally male characters in fantasy are much more cliched than female ones. And that's why they're boring. Why are they cliched you might ask? Conan, Aragorn, Frodo,Gothic Nameless Hero, sounds familiar? At some point you just expect male character to "pull a Conan"... And sadly get it.

As for everything else, if you've learned from ME, that's my point. It won't happen, lol.
Again there isn't quite a reason for them to market female Hawke. And it'd be more exciting for you to see what she looks like when the game comes out, I think.

Tooneyman, nobody tells you to stare at your character's butt when you play a game. If anything, zoom in the camera so it's out of view, lol.

Go to the females in marketing thread if you want to argue that point. There's no reason to come here and say that other than to troll.

I've learned from ME2 only one thing: I've never bought the game. Now of course it's coming on PS3 and you people mentioned it many times, described ability to play as female character etc...Litos456 wrote...

Sooooo that's why we're asking them to change. Because it probably won't happen.
And I wouldn't say there's "no reason" to market to females but I'm not going to change your mind no matter what I say so it's not worth the effort.

If people don't know enough about the game to know you can make a female or male character, a poster with a female and male hawke isn't going to suddenly inform them they CAN choose their sex. For all they know, it could be Hawke's sister!
Like having Grunt in the Mass Effect 2 cover... people aren't gonna assume they can play as a Krogan, and the other character is another companion. Shepard on the other hand, they would have surely seen in commercials, and put it together that he is the main character.
And putting a female hawke in the trailers isn't going to solve the problem, as having a "face" is a legit business strategy.
They would need to literally spell it out to have the casual gamer know they can make a female or male character.
People like to sit around in a forum and say "I know best this, I know best that." Bottom line is most of the time they DON'T know best. Or are at least ignorant of the little things that make seemingly simple things more complex then the seem. People go to college to study advertisement. I'm sure EA's advertisement department contains a few people who've STUDIED this. EA and Bioware are filthy rich and highly successfull so obviously the advertisment department is doing a damn good job.

Speaking of Lady Hawke, am I the only one who thinks that interaction with ugly pirate girl from the trailer might be much more interesting for female PC: you can kill her and don't feel bad about it.

I've worked in a store and I sell to customers everyday. I have gone to college and guess what. You give your customers what they want with great service and they will come back to you every time. If you show the fact that their is a lady hawke on the front cover it shows woman, Bioware is finally thinking outside the box. Besides if you see a woman wearing hawkes armor how are you going to think thats his sister.????? No wait you aren't!
