I thought the Dalish Keeper Lanaya was cute as well.
She was, and on top of that I loved her character. Good for her that she overcame such a sad background to become a First (and in some games, a Keeper).

I just going to add my two cents into this thread, but I think what bioware should once they reveal lady hawke is change the poster art of the game. They should make one side of Hawke man and the other woman or make then a equal in size. This would let the fans of the world know that you can be two different genders and it would make people probably happy along with the ladies. We live in a world of both genders. I would hate to have nothing, but sausage fests. Make have of hawke male and have the other half female, but make it a like a line between them. ONce they reveal the concept art for the game. ONe of you talented artist out their should show them how its done and split the two with the magazine image and make bioware bow their heads in shame.
If people don't know enough about the game to know you can make a female or male character, a poster with a female and male hawke isn't going to suddenly inform them they CAN choose their sex. For all they know, it could be Hawke's sister!
Like having Grunt in the Mass Effect 2 cover... people aren't gonna assume they can play as a Krogan, and the other character is another companion. Shepard on the other hand, they would have surely seen in commercials, and put it together that he is the main character.
And putting a female hawke in the trailers isn't going to solve the problem, as having a "face" is a legit business strategy.
They would need to literally spell it out to have the casual gamer know they can make a female or male character.
People like to sit around in a forum and say "I know best this, I know best that." Bottom line is most of the time they DON'T know best. Or are at least ignorant of the little things that make seemingly simple things more complex then the seem. People go to college to study advertisement. I'm sure EA's advertisement department contains a few people who've STUDIED this. EA and Bioware are filthy rich and highly successfull so obviously the advertisment department is doing a damn good job.
I've worked in a store and I sell to customers everyday. I have gone to college and guess what. You give your customers what they want with great service and they will come back to you every time. If you show the fact that their is a lady hawke on the front cover it shows woman, Bioware is finally thinking outside the box. Besides if you see a woman wearing hawkes armor how are you going to think thats his sister.????? No wait you aren't!

Some concept art would be cool, they managed to finally have their default male lead actually look attractive, be intresting to see if they put as much effort into Lady Hawke.
I found FemShep and shepard defaults equally unattractive in ME.

Indeed, although creating a femShep also proved to be really limiting given the horrible preset shapes and lack of adjustment options.

Well, maybe we couldn't romance him in Awakenings because they were saving that for another time.

Seems like people got our thread mixed up with the DA2 marketing appeal to females thread. Hmm.

*Pulls out a shotgun and loads it* Protect Lady Hawke!
Does anyone not remember having to be pure EVIL w/ him? Did he get any farther then "Drink, screw, and fight," outside of mods? (Well, I can't say much. My poor, poor, poor, poor West Harbor girl liked the ranger FAR better then the *annoyingcreepy* paladin).

Back on topic, my desire to see Lady Hawke isn't because I don't trust Bioware, I know she exists, I just really, really want to see how they envision her. Besides that, I very much want to see her hair and her armour. Especially her armour.

Also, I'd like to see Bioware's marketing overcome this aversion to showing their female versions of the PC, but that's for the other thread.
All the awesome fanart makes me want to break out my bamboo fun and try to suck less at it. I think I'll just admire the pretty art other people send this way instead.
