Just FYI, I'm not sure if it's just me, but the GIF from Centurion on the OP is no longer working.

It's out of bandwidth, and I think Dave might have taken it down. We have a replacement, I think, but it's not up there. :D

I think we should stop the breasts topic imo...we don't want to get this thread closed, do we? :( And there will always be people who agree and don't agree. I am sure the devs saw this and will do something about it...

A certain amount of strength is needed and so is athleticism for any kind of life on the road especially when that lifestyle involves escaping from and engaging in combat. Even light weights  (20-30 lbs) can be a major issue when speed is required and you'll be crossing heavy vegetation or hills.

And my 5'6 elf mage male would like to ask your male mage how he manages to keep up with Alistair and Dog despite never having stepped out of the Circle Tower. ;)

Well, the tower halls do form a convenient circular shape to function as a track for jogging, assuming the templars aren't feeling very oppressive today. :wizard:

It can be immersion breaking. It's why I liked how slim and well toned Morrigan and Leliana looked. I had no problem believing where either came from. Things like how Wynne managed to make that march all the way to Denerim with me on the other hand gave me reason to pause. I suppose the Fade Spirit controlling her gave her the strength to continue. :/

Would you not listen to your doctor if he was a man?

I know all about stuffing :-)

But you can increase breast size with proper exercise and good diet while remaining slim. On the reverse you can also decrease breast size with exercise and diet. Neither as much as surgery would give you but at least it's natural.

People come in all shapes and sizes.

That's why I endorse in-depth customization options.

It's on topic for Lady Hawke. It is a female character model, and concerns the very person this thread is about.

We have a clear view of two women in the game, both of whom share a character model. If we make our concern known now maybe they can change it before the game is released.

Also, it wouldn't stop me, either. But the thing is (and I said this earlier), would a guy or girl have inherent dislike for a character or game simply because they have a regular, average bust? I truly doubt it. They make find a character hotter with less even proportions, but considering all the fans Morrigan and Tali have, I don't think large breasts are necessary.

Compare that to having a game where every character model has larger boobs then a Playboy model. Now, guys might suddenly :o but then the girls are <_<. Then there's a problem, suddenly, and arguments going on and resentment brewing. Having an average bust size pleases both.

kidding. But I have seen people at the gym with really big breasts (and not necessarily a hulking body to match, although they were athletic obviously). Maybe it's a hindrance or whatever, but somehow they seem to manage.

We just went over how a woman with breasts the size or slightly smaller than Bethany's had to get breast reduction surgery because they were causing her problems. This is for a woman who plays tennis, which is not the most athletic sport in the world. She mentioned how she would have done it anyway, because in every day life they gave her problems.

In any case, if it were just Bethany, or if there were multiple character models, I'd still think it looked ridiculous, but I'd say it was fine. More than likely, though, this is the only model we'll have, so that character model needs to be able to wield two-handed swords and sprint in plate armor.

Not very rare at all.  I see plenty of slim women with ample breasts everyday (not that I'm looking!).  Breasts are fat. Proper exercise in the right areas, good diet, lots of milk and cheese can give ample size breats with slim figure.  Bodies can be moulded without need to afront mother nature with surgery.

You know, I'm going to pull the "you're a guy, so you don't know" card again. As a girl, I can tell you I know plenty of ways of getting another cup or so out of my clothes and bras without stuffing. Most other girls learn tricks as well.

And I don't and can't look like any of the guys in any BioWare game so it is a bit hard for me to see why you are upset over boobs <_<.

Somehow I don't see the Templars taking to kindly to a mage running up and down the tower. lol

Besides you're just out of your apprenticeship. You wouldn't have gone very far past the library.

But I do see your point. The steady incline would do wonders for your legs.

But...you're not a doctor. And you don't need to stuff your bra to make your chest look bigger. You've shown that you don't know a whole lot about, er, feminine mystique and how we wear our clothes and such. I can easily assume I know more about making boobs look bigger then you. Experience, geddit?

In any case, you're still proving my point. Those women are making their breasts bigger intentionally--they are focusing on enlargening them without surgery. They are not born that way. Bethany, I really doubt, has access to these sort of supplements or has the time to work her body out till her breasts look ginormous and her waist tiny.

Or perhaps the made a deal with a Desire Demon... that would've made for an interesting turn of events were it available for female Mages during the Redcliffe quest.

1) If they changed the abs on guys to look more regular, go right ahead, you don't hear me complaining. One thing doesn't justify the other. If you would like it changed, ask for it. If you don't, clearly it doesn't matter to you or it's something you want.

2) For the many, many, many reasons stated, an athletic woman shouldn't look like that. Not naturally. It would cause her only problems. You can at least argue that an athletic man would be very muscular. It's not detrimental to his lifestyle.

3) In my experience, men prefer for their avatars to look ridiculously manly (see 300, Gears of War...) far more then women want their avatars to look like porn stars. In both cases, the models are appealing to men. This is not true of everyone. It's not as important in as my other two points, at least.

It gets old quick. May not be female but I personally get tired of the earth shattering boobage thing fem leads keep having. The bodies are almost never in anyway realistic and the fact they're meant for some 13 year old kid's masturbatory fantasies is pretty obvious.

Not a doctor, but A- at higher level biology.  Maybe I lost marks on understanding of breasts.  Do lots of exercise. Interested in good food.  Researched.

Milk and cheese not supplements.  Good old fashioned food.  Around for millenia.  If Bethany has good diet and keeps active, not reason why she can't have good figure and ample breasts.  Exaggerated slightly for game, but it's a game. Artist/animator might not be up to scratch.

Tennis is a very athletic sport. Maybe they give her problems in everyday life, but they don't make her incapable.

My rationale for Bethany looking that way, of course, only applies to Bethany. I support more muscular looking warriors etc.

People who go to the gym are often trying to build
up a certain muscle or trying to sculpt their body this way or that.
It's not the same thing as having to carry a 40 pound pack and walking
from Orzammar to redcliffe over the course of a single night.

I think we need a little bit of willing suspension of disbelief, otherwise you could say the models in Origins were built inadequately to make such treks as well.

Well for me all the men are far too fat and tall and I don't think they can or will fix it and I just don't care about the big boobs and last of all it is not real life;).

Oh and 300 sucks.

The male equivalent of what has so far been show for female bust size would approximately be this;

Posted Image

While entirely achievable for some people, it would just be silly if every male in the Dragon Age 2 world were at this level of musculature. And it would be insulting men's intelligence.

And seeing veins like that on everyone would be scarier than french kissing a Broodmother.
