No to that half naked anime girl and no to a Lady Hawke with the same body proportions as that woman (Bethany?).

Sharn01 and whoever made that model need to go outside and look at humans.  She's got too many bones in her neck and not enough in her ribcage.  I know this is so BW can give her an unnaturally tiny waist in order to
emphasise her huge rack (conveniently on display, of course) but that neck/waist combo (and the removal of several ribs) can't possibly keep that rack and head upright for very long.

I hope this is not what was meant by the appeasement to the fanboys that Lady Hawke would be "hot".  She needs to be able to walk first, I think.  Say NO to the Leaning Tower of Pisa Lady Hawke :(  Nothing wrong with good-looking characters but you could at least quit the stupid T&A recipe for the females. Or make it slightly less obvious.

Unless you're going to appease those of us who like nice man-shoulders with magical invisible armour. Then I will forgive that yucky anatomy.

Also just an FYI that an "hourglass" is not top heavy.  I have an hourglass on my desk.  It's balanced.

Umm good luck with getting DA and bioware to give up on T&A. Or even getting it lowered down a notch. Its not going to happen.. Ever...
T&A make way too much money and bioware is one of the most firm supporters of it. So like i said, good luck with that.

Indeed. DA2 should use anime graphics style (And no, that´s NOT irony, I mean seriously).

They should never quit with the T&A recipe, to many people love that one.
And a good thing they're not hiding it either.

On a side note, I would love to see some game company deciding to make a Bioware/CDPROJECT kind of game with manga style art.
Square Enix, I'm giving you a hint here.

I'm sure it'll happen, eventually. When games are more advanced and I'm dead; I just replayed Baldur's Gate and it's obvious that even good ol' T&A has been toned down in the last few years.  I don't see the harm in pointing out blatant sexism where it exists.

Thanks for the good wishes though.  Like I said, I can forgive them if they get Male Hawke half naked. Do it, BW. DO IT NAO.

Riiiiiiiiiight. So, your points were:

1.  if I was a prudish female and had complained about this, I'd have been justified but also a fair target for more of your scorn? Good to know.

2.  Being annoyed/disappointed by obvious sexism is stupid and only for women, and only then, if they're prudish women?

Well educated men? They don't exist.  Well educated  women who don't dress like grandma?  Also non existant!

Well done on managing to insult both genders with your idiocy.

I absolutely love the fact you can play as a female barbarian in Diablo 3. This is a pretty convincing character design imho.

I honestly like thoes boots. And I wouldn't be surprised if they actually used some boots like that (probibly without high heels though). As for the rest, I don't see them showing quite that much skin. Not because its to sexy, but because no one would actully wear anything that small. I think they do try to keep it somewhat believable.

Being annoyed by sexism is ok. Being annoyed because a video game looks good? Stupid indeed.

But know what? Go ahead and make a game were all men have more bodyhair than a monkey and are as wide as high, and the women have no boobs and don´t shave. Look how it sells.

I like to see all of my character's armor. Nice armor parts get lost when covered by a piece of cloth.

That armor design is impressive. The design's concept must be an eagle..

Thanks.
I had to hide the orc ear, but I think she looks human enough.
She's a bit less emo than Garrett too.

While cool-looking (love the leg armor!) I'll say no.

If we're going with anime-style inspired video game heroines, I'd say something more like Hildegard:

What I think... They should release 2 collector's editions. One with female Hawke on cover and one with male.

Wow.

There is a time and a place for hosiery, and the battlefield is not one of those places. Male or female, I would be insulted by that design, not because its sexist, but because it insults our collective intelligence.

And not to forget space hamsters.
Bioware should really take a step back with sex appeal, since space hamsters will lose their sence of justice. And most likely will go to war with humans if not closed the insults of collective intelligence.

All hail space hamsters.

I definitely agree here. Although I'm more concerned about armor design, in DAO female version of light armor left either neck and upper chest or stomach naked... Which looked ridiculously stupid. And here we have Bethany... Say what you will, people, but what idiot covers her stomach with chainmail only to leave upper chest naked?

rofl keep the anime style away from my western games! It doesn't need to spread at all.

On a different note, here's another thought for those advocating a more "realistic" look with realistic proportions: I think we've reached the point where often enough, things need to be at least slightly stylized in order to avoid the uncanny valley effect. So a little visual hyperbole is not necessarily a bad thing. :)
