I just now got a computer with Windows 7, and upon installing NWN2 I had severe graphics issues. In the first "boat" scene on Storm of Zehir, only the top left 1/4 of my screen was displaying correctly; in the rest, the boat was invisible. I've also had some graphics issues with the Harp and Chrysanthemum module, which have never happened before. I have an 8500 graphics card with all the latest drivers. Aside from that, i've done no modifications whatsoever to my computer, my card settings, or NWN2. How can I fix this?

You should not let a salesman tell you lies about an old and unworthy graphics device. The Geforce 8400 is barely at the game's minimum, and is three years old. All of the Geforce 8n00 cards had faulty firmware causing them to run the fans in their cooling systems incorrectly, among other things. If it's a laptop, haul it back to the store and scream bloody murder about being sold a badly out of date machine.
Many old model Geforces run poorly on drivers more recent than 190-something, so the "latest" drivers are often incompatible. Here are the appropriate comparisons:
Geforce 7100 GS and its twin, the Geforce 6200A, which is well over five years out of date, and slower than a snail.

8400 GS, almost as bad as a 7100:

well, i ran it on a 7100 on my old compute just fine - i don't see why this should be any different? and i was wrong, it's an 8400. i got it on amazon (i like to buy old parts since they're cheaper) - should i register it and claim the warranty? it is definitely making a buzzing noise in the computer.
