Where the heck is godwin? I told him that he was safe when I did the
tower, trying to get him out of the closet. Now trying to do this stupid
quest and I can't find him? Is it because I sided with the templars? I told him it was safe and everything...

Second floor, hiding in a closet.

The closet isn't interactive anymore after doing the mage's tower, after talking to him. That's the problem.

On the other hand, I never sided with the templars, so I couldn't tell you.

But he was bugged for me on my first playthrough, disappearing without finishing the quest.

That's probably why then...damnit they should make the quest unavailable before I wasted my gold.

Got a similar bug - the dwarf prince's first quest is still incomplete, while him and his advisor is dead. I suspect that's what causes his loyalists to pop up and attack occassionally. (Why follow a dead guy?)

On another note, though, how's the dwarf to know Godwin's dead? So of course the quest was still available. :D (Ok, ok, bad joke. It should be listed as 'can't be completed' or something at the least so it's not in the quest list bugging you.).

Why should they do that? The dwarf doesn't know that his buyer is dead. Even if he did, he'd still try to sell you the stuff.

On the other hand, you should have considered that if you had all the circle magi killed, there's no one to sell the metal to.

I was under the impression that the magi in the tower were killed, and those other magi were ones not in the tower at the time. By 'the healer' are you refering to the ones at Redcliffe?

If you sided with the Templars and killed all the Mages, then the Templars continue on with their "kill all mages in the Circle" request they had, I'd imagine that's why you can't find him.

Well, they didn't kill the children and the mages where you find wyrne or whatever. Why would they kill a tranquil though? he can't even DO magic nor was he an abomination

Godwin wasn't a tranquil. A tranquil wouldn't hide in a closet.

Huh. Owain (the Tranquil who tells you about Niall) is gone in my game after I finished the Tower quest, but Godwin is still standing by his closet. Sided with the Circle, if it makes a difference.

On the same subject, I have already completed the circle quest and is now under the templars control. I can not remember anyone hiding in a closet during the quest. I went back and serch all closet on the 2nd floor, can't find anything..... can anyone shed some light?

No. The guy was in the closet for the first run through the tower. You might not have even noticed if you weren't exploring thoroughly. But if you had the templars kill all the mages, they would have killed Godwin.

Would have been nice to have an alternate buyer.  A blood-mage perhaps.  After all, the seller, old-whats-his-face does hint that you can sell it to whoever you like.

I offer my help, if that's what you mean had the templars kill all the mages.  So mages left and children left.  I just offered to seek out the First enchanter.  I don't think I killed all mages.

I save a lot so I did it a couple ways. I had already sided with the templars and the magi were obviously gone. So I took the deal on one save (paid 40 with a persuade in price) then simpley talked to him again and then it gives you the option of telling him the circle is gone and Godwinis dead. There is then a speech where he thinks you and Godwin are in cahoots and you fight him. You loot him and get 20G.

But if you just tell him the first time without taking the quest in the first place that you will be turning him n you wil have to fight him there also and you still loot 20G. So if the magi are dead in your run through just kill him and loot the 20G.

Not sure if doing the quest out if you saved the circle nets you 20G proft either. But it might give some story value unless it is still bugged.

I know this is an old topic, but since no onementioned what I saw i figured I would throw it here for future searches.

Tried to turn him in, fought the guy and didn't loot any gold from him at all. Just a couple potions.

I always side with the mages. 40 buy from the Dwarf and sell for 65 and a dagger, then blackmail for 8 more. Tell dwarf he said thirty for finder's fee and get 25.

This is a strange thread. "Why is Godwin not available to me after I have sentenced him to death?". Umm.....
