Normally, I dont buy special editions because most of them simply include garbage (like ME 2 CE).
But lately I have bought the Halo Reach Legendary edition and the bonus content was awesome! Especially the handmade Noble Six Statue. I bought the special edition because it was the last Halo game (from Bungie anyway) and I'm a big Halo fan and I wanted to show my contribution to the series.
Because ME 3 will be the last in the series I'll definitly buy the special edition, if they dont screw it up that is.
What I would really like for the ME 3 SE is something like a Normandy model (not too smal though, about 30 centimetres long) or a handmade statue of some of your teammembers(Garrus, Wrex, Tali...)or perhaps a Reaper ship model. Or a bust of a Geth.
Don't put in-game content with it because that is no collectible, I'm not a big fan of Artbooks either but I can see why some people would go for it.
I hope Bioware reads this:

I would want for a collectors edition/limited edition: to have a bonus disk with exclusive content like making of the game and other stuff like that. An art book, good quality models of the normandy (made out of metal, not some cheap plastic) and Shepard. As well as a an N-7 t-shirt.

here's at least one thing everyone would love.
a image of what the Quarians look like inside the suit, cause face it they most likely arent gonna reveal what they do look like in game.

A metal tin, similar to ME2's CE. Developer Documentaries of similar scope to ME1's CE. And then maybe an in-game reward, ME1 armor or something.

The marketing groups do that, they don't have anything to do with the programming and content anyway. So it wouldn't be taking away from the game.

what i want from mass effect 3 CE is a full size hardcover art book. (not the dinky thing we got with me1 and 2) a fully featured making of dvd with a minimum of 1 hour worth of content. and one iconic mass effect collectible. a miniature replica of the Normandy from ME3 or a iconic statue similar to the halo reach legendary edition. featuring Shepeard, Garrus and Liara. i would gladly shell out 120 euros for that.

Complete. No split content, period. (no weapon/armor/mission DLC anywhere near initial release)
An in-depth "field trip" through BW headquarters and the making of ME1,2, and 3. Spoiler Heavy.(meant for post game entertainment)
High Quality, no B.S. Art dvd/book.
^ Nice idea OSD. (Soundtrack collection CD)
Quality, I want it.
I would be very satisfied if they did just that.

As stated by many people above, a quality model of the Normandy would be great. Doesn't have to be huge, just maybe 6-8" long on a nice pedestal, but again, high quality. A "datapad" tablet-like thing with the full, voiced codex from all 3 games would be cool. Even an N7 Helmet that's wearable would be nice. And an art book and proper making of DVD would be nice, again as stated above. Honestly, some kind of model would make me happy. Something to go on my desk!

The only thing i like from special editions is extra in game content. I don't like the ones that are twice the price and come with a random remote control car, detailed model or whatever. However, since its mass effect, unless the price is a MAJOR increase from the standard edition, im getting the collectors edition.

I'd prefer a modest CE with a nice steelbook package, artbook, and maybe a soundtrack CD or behind the scenes DVD. Hopefully some bonus downloadable content.
I don't really want them to produce some $200 edition with a N7 helmet for cats because I would feel compelled to buy it, and I don't have any place to put plastic game crap.

A working Normandy. Anything else would be a rip-off!
But I guess a reasonable sized model for the ship is acceptable too.

I'd want an N7 helmet, Garrus visor that can be connected to an MP3 player, a Wrex plushie or an omni-tool.

Rumor mill says that BioWare is mulling over the possibility of an Uber-edition, along the lines of the Call of Duty(heh...doody) prestige editions. My vote is for an N7 helmet, soundtrack and 100 page art book.

I favor the idea of three editions. I mean, some of you guys are listing a lot of stuff (which I want nevertheless
) which is going to be out of the price range. Let's face it, most of the guys here are ME fanatics, so of course we'd buy a freaking Incisor rifle if we could, but there's gonna be a lot of people who just want a tin box, DLC and maybe some extras that don't take up too much space/ aren't too expensive. I think having just 2 editions, one completely bare-bones and one that costs a crapload (150$+) is too restrictive.
The ideal for me would be a standard edition, a collectors edition similar to ME2's (which I didn't think it was that bad, really, considering the small price difference) in content and cost and an ultimate 'end of the saga' edition costing around 200$ with cool things like figurines, a T-shirt, soundtrack, etc.
PS: sorry for any grammar/spelling error, english is not my first language

I agree with JD-man, this is the last of the trilogy. The special edition should be special. I'll pay well for it, as long as it is a quality edition. I want well-made collector items, not cheap plastic junk.

BioWare sends a real-life asari to your door who tells you that your copy of Mass Effect 3 is located on her somewhere and it's up to you to find where.
