They better do a better job with the bonus feature DVD then with ME2. Horrible job on that. As for cool extras, id take premium themes, a Shepard helmet(although if they could get WETA to make one, id rather buy a professional looking one), or even a 1/X scale of the Normandy would be epic.

Yeah. A "Making of" documentary of a decent length that really is a behind the scenes look at how the game is made rather than a 20 minute advertisement with spoilers for a game I already own would be a nice change of pace.

CD Projekt certainly know how to make a collectors' edition. I wish ME3's could have the same standard and level of loot! (Check out what they plan to bundle with the CE of The Witcher 2.)

Honestly, I like my ME2 CE, but a few of the elements were sub-par. As others have mentioned, the "making of" DVD is the prime example.  It only had one video clip that I hadn't already watched on the Bioware website in the run-up to the release of ME2. (And even that didn't actually discuss the "making of" very much - there was a surprising amount of marketing and "ME2 will be so great" in it - they didn't need to sell the game to me at that stage, surely?)

Like others have said the one thing this CE's got to improve is having a real, long, in-depth look at how ME3 was made. Do not even think of DAO's CE, that making-of documentaries wasn't even close to the level I'm talking about. It felt like a commercialized package of a CE that didn't live up to the game. So give us one that is really special. EA has a tendency to give us these 'cookie-cutter manufactured products' that ought to have been 'special handcrafted masterpieces.'

So this includes:

- An awesome case

- A soundtrack disk

- Long making-of documentary

- 200 page high-quality artbook

- A high-quality Reaper figurine (Sovereign), Normandy

- A more complete series of comic book if any

- A high quality model of a character of our choosing (Shepard, Garrus, Tali, Mordin, Wrex, Thane, etc )

- A special spectre soldier tag

I'm curious how much people are willing to pay for a collectors/preorder edition.(OP create a poll :D?) With the ME2 one it was only $10 more than the standard, having only small extras that fit in the tin.

For ME3, if they had more stuff (eg. thicker artbook/coffee table bk and making of documentary) I'll gladly pay more for a collectors edition. (usual/standard price is about AU$120-130?)
giving people an idea of other gaming CE's (googled) 1| 2| 3| 4| 5| 6 | 7

I forked over for the GT5 Signature Edition.

I will be getting the ME3 "whatever" edition no matter what.

I think a really sweet artbook(around 100 pages), a OST cd, some sort of exclusve "Bonus" in game content, and a real life Miranda would be nice.

All you guys have really great ideas, but im going to have to say if you are going to add in that one special item, give me a wearable garrus eye piece so I can chill and beat me3 wearing it. Wanted that eye piece in real life since me1 came out and having it for my avatar is nice and all but you know whats good bioware, you know.

If they make it expensive enough, a scale model of shep but you can provide a picture of your shep as it to be based on.

My dream Ultimate Edition:

ME3 (Obviously XD)

Soundtrack

Making of

Large Blizzard Style Art book

Sovereign or the Normandy SR1 statue (Pref size of Halo Reach statue)

ME Poster

Bonus Content

This is the biggest part for me, do this in a box that would fit all of this, it would be a little large (sorry for the reference again but the size of the Halo Reach legendary box) and you could choose between a Renegade or Paragon logo and have some decals on it to make it look like an Heavy Ammo crate. For a quick idea :

Though we may or might not get a free copy of ME2 with all the DLCs. :P But that'll just have to wait, until they bring out a goty copy or something. Though not sure if ME1 did that.

I'm gonna fork over however much money the most expensive version costs, so... How would /I/ want it packaged? I'll leave that one to my imagination.

At the very least, it would be nice if my statue of Noble Team had a little competition for, uhh... most awesome replica collectors item included in a special edition of a game. There aren't many others competing for it.

Something big. The trilogy needs to go out with a huge bang and first and foremost, I believe it should be limited.

A somewhat good example would be what halo 2->3 did. The halo 2 limited edition was almost nothing, but number 3 was huge though disappointing because of how overproduced it was.

From a fan pleasing/business standpoint, I would say release 3 editions. Standard, Collector Edition, and X "Special" edition. The first is obvious as the name would suggest and the collector should follow in the footsteps of the previous collector editions of mass effect and maybe even make it more available because of the third edition.

Now this last edition should be the thing we huge fans of the game/company have been waiting for. Make it big, jam packed, expensive(with reason), and truly limited. Now, I am not saying limit it to 100 pieces and disappoint thousands of fans, but something that will make it a collector piece. I say 300-10,000 would be a good number. Maybe even make it exclusive to the bioware store?

You could really do anything with the special edition from packing it with stuff you could buy outside the edition such as limited edition art books, guides, and such, but include physical unique items to the package. A statue, figure or figures, lithograph, shirt, bag, accessories, replica models, even bioware signatures if possible. It could also be hand numbered to add even more uniqueness and flavor to the product.

I understand all the complications that come with making something like this, but I believe I am speaking from your most loving fanbase when I say that this is what we want.

A bioware announcement could also be made prior to its release with a specific time/date it will be up for order so all fans have a fair chance of getting one. Maybe even separating the number scheme for NA/PAL regions so region time does not have an affect on being able to get the item.

Price wise, $120-300 seems to be probably the best point. It will sell at the price point very well, allow the package to be packed with lots of goodies, allow not only the rich to have a chance at it but at the same time defining its value, and overall I believe would be a good idea.

Would really love it if you would consider the idea Bioware.

i have to agree with RichardEffect, just make a few thousand so funs wont get pissed off too much, but really I am saving up money already to buy a SPECIAL special edition, I don;t really care about in game staff because

1. Having physical objects that remind you of ME is very cool, because probably after 10 times finishing it I wont be spending too much time in the game and will be great to have something on my desk that reminds me of ME adventures)))

2. PIRATES! if you are making collector edition and the "special staff" can be cracked and put in to the internet for anybody to download, then it is not so special is it? I wanna know that I, as a big fun, have a special piece that only few have.

Probably a price from 150$-250$ is reasonable for the last game in this trilogy (cmon it is not too much, Crysis2 SE is 150 and its definitely not worth it).

More than anything in the entire world, I'd like a wearable N7 helmet. That would be fantastic. Life = Complete. I'd wear it with my N7 shirt and pajama pants while playing the game at three in the morning. Probably wear it to the mall and ask for discounts in exchange for recording ads. Would most definitely wear it while buying more fishes. HEY EVERYONE THIS STORE DISCRIMINATES AGAINST THE POOR.

...Besides that:
-Soundtrack would be nice. With an easy way to copy the files to an iPod would be ever better.
-Thick artbook compilation. Not the little thing that came with ME2 Collectors Edition. Like a 8.5"x11", many, many pages of wonderful artistic goodness. The process each and every little thing in the ME universe goes through to reach completion is truly awe-inspiring... and being able to view all the little details by holding a heavy, good old fashioned book three millimeters away from your face is always fun. -art nerd :D-
-Perhaps a poster or lithograph (or multiple ones) signed by the staff, including some of the voice actors/face models? (I can imagine this would become a pain after a while for the entire team, so maybe just have a few people sign each? I'm not picky, and we love you all equally.)
-And/or a REALLY BIG poster. The kind you put on walls to express your complete geekiness to your friends. "Hoho, look at this amazing Mass Effect poster I have that you don't and my girlfriend/boyfriend doesn't care that it takes up half the room." THAT big.
-Could honestly care less about DLC. It's always a let down based on the price paid and it always ends up making the rounds to other gamers. Even though BioWare's DLC has always been top-notch, I think they can do better with something more unique. Besides, BW DLC should be available for all to experience. The game universe just wouldn't feel complete knowing that a select few have access to a super secret mission/super special character while others do not.
-Some awesomesauce documentaries. Can't express how many times I've gone through all the ME1 commentaries. Was nice to hear what the artists, programmers, etc all thought about the project. Very cool people at BioWare. (...Longer than five minutes plzlol.)
-...STICKERS. Oh goodness, that would be KICKASS.
-Some customized N7 dogtags would also be incredibly cool. If customization is a no, perhaps include both a male John Shepard and a female Jane Shepard, rather than just one. Or, better yet, include a little option for this when ordering.
-If a helmet is out of the question, a model Normandy would be reasonable. Would run around imitating Joker's "Pew, Pew" segment, for sure.

Just some ideas. My two-cents.

Not sure about $250. $150-$200 would be much more acceptable. /Sneakyconcealingofstudentwages.

Hopefully information on ordering the super amazing fantastical edition of ME3 will be plastered all over the front page and will last longer than a free-for-all one hour session. Or something to that effect. This part here is really making me nervous, I most certainly do not want to miss out on this. However, getting time off work to order a video game might not go down so well...

EDIT: Oh, and a turian head-sock. I want it. Make it happen, BioWare.

The downside is, you'll lose your arm when you fire it!

Exclusive content to be exactly that. Exclusive to that edition. Same goes fro "limited edition".

None of this crap about it no longer being exclusive, or limited, after a given time period, like what they did with PS3 version of ME2.

Once I will forgive, rip me off a second time EA, and I'll have your balls.

All I want is a good art book. Not that small, joke of a book in ME2, but big, A4 format beautiful art book with at least 200 pages in it, like it was in The Witcher Limited Edition. Actually, The Witcher games always have the best collector's editions imho, Bioware should have a look at the awesome contents of the The Witcher 2 Collector's Edition and make notes to have something similar for ME3.

For ME3, I think around 500 € would be the maximum I'd be willing to cough up - but if I felt I was getting bang for my buck, my personal budget would probably top out at around three times that.:)
