Is there a way to copy animations to another character? (Solved--and very good to know!)

I realized too late that I should have made an NPC Alistair instead of using the stand-in one. I've done that, but the animation is all on the other one. Is there a way to replace a character with another, or to copy the animations in total?

I don't think you can copy stuff from multiple tracks at the same time but I believe you should be able to highlight and copy all things from one track at a time. You would then have to relink animations and such. There might be a better way but it shouldn't take terribly long to do what I described.

The easiest way is to select your existing Alistair actor and in the object inspector change the 'source' field to your new creature. And either clear the 'mapping tag' or set it to something that isn't Alistair.

In case you might want to do this in the future,  you can copy animations from multiple tracks from your source.

Select the animations you want to copy, right click and copy, then on another tab, go to the scene you want to paste, right click on the *actor* you want to paste in, (not the added tracks if any) and click paste. It should create new tracks for you with the pasted material at the position of your new timeline,  provided you have enough room from your timeline position to the end of the cutscene.

Whoa is that ever a great tip.  Why didn't you tell me that weeks ago!  :P

Heh, I did what you first suggested last night, but knowing that, as well as FergusM's suggestion, will help a lot in future--thanks guys!
