I have payed for and downloaded three DLC (Return to Ostagar, Leliana's Song, The Golems of Amgarrak) When I went to play these I found that they were not there so I checked to see their download status. When I checked they were still in the available to download section so I refreshed my points to see if that would help any. when I did they moved to the installed tab but they were listed as unautherized. I would like to know what the heck is going on. Why can I not play stuff I have paid for. Is there some place I can go to. To be able to talk to someone and have this fixed so I can play the game please?

First, be sure to be logged in DA:O with the very same account you used to purchase these DLC.

Then, you can try to launch Dragon Age Updater service prior to launching game. For this, open Windows main menu, select Run..., type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter.

In the Services window, look for Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater service. Right-click on it and select Start in the contextual menu. Once the service has started, close the Services window and relaunch the game.

I made sure that I was signed in on the same account. I tried doing what you suggested and I still run into the same problem.

I would like some help to this issue instead of just being ignored.

I'm having the same problem. At first, I thought it was because the game was registered on another cd-key (I borrowed my friend's copy before buying the game for myself). So I re-installed DA:O and typed in my own cd-key. Leliana's Song would still appear as "unauthorized". And yes, I did log-out/log-in with the same account I bought the DLC with and I did what JackM proposed. It still won't work.

Just wait a bit just takes the servers some time to authorize them.

A bit... I've been waiting for four days now. There was a moment with when the un-authorized went away and I went to go check to see if I could play them and they weren't there. I went directly to the DLC page to see if they were still authorized. Low and behold there were there in the available to download tab and unautherized. This is starting to really get on my nerves because I paid money for them and the game is telling me I can't use them at all.

I'm not sure exactly what happened. Maybe the people at bio-ware read this and did something about it or maybe what I just tired worked but. I tried signing out of my account to see if I could access my content that way and it let me so I signed back in and I got all of it but return to ostagar. So I tried that one more time and I got all of it authorized.

Yay this is wonderful... I got the Authorized just to find out I can't even play them... when I go to play Leliana's song it give me an error message saying it can't load module and when I try to play The Golems of Amgarrak it allows me to create the character but then it says "Cannot load area"... Seriously could someone offer a little bit of useful help here? I have never had so much difficulty with a game before in my life. Honestly I thought buying a Bioware game was a good choice...

The servers were off yesterday. At least that's what the game told me. Today I can't play my DLC either (only one of them) because they're not being authorised. Perhaps it has to do with the servers having been down?

It isn't just today for me I have been dealing with this for five days now. Funny thing is. it is only those three dlc that are not working for me. I got darkspawn chronicles when I got them and it works fine it is just those three that wont work.

I'm having the same problems, this is pathetic. I hope DA2's DLC's arent delivered like this. I wish i could stomp on the head of duesch bag at Bioware who decided to deliver content like this.

All the dlc I have ever gotten before either had a very simple explanation as to how to install it or had and auto installer and never ever acted up like the dlc on this game...

Alright so it's been a week since it did it again and ever since I've not been able to load my game properly due to dlc not being authorized.

I went to check on this forum and ended up in this section here: http://social.biowar...58/index/759141 Scroll down to paragraph 5. There I downloaded the DA Update Service Diagnostic Beta and installed it. Followed instructions on this forum page and now my dlc works fine again.

Hope that helps.

Concerning the authorization problem, I always follow these steps after launching game and before clicking New, Resume or Load:

1. from main menu, check that you are logged in* then select Downloadable Content
2. if you see your DLCs on a green background and Points Balance updating, skip to step 7
3. wait for Point Balance to be updated
4. close panel
5. click again Downloadable Content
6. this time you should see your installed DLC on a green background and the Points Balance in update mode again
7. wait for Points Balance to be updated
8. close panel and load your saved game, resume a previous game or start a new one.
* You must be logged with the very same account you used to purchase your DLC(s) or to redeem your promo code(s)

You only have to proceed this way on your first load after each DA:O launch. Once this is done, you can directly load saved games during the same session.

If the above steps do not solve your issue, the next step is to try to launch the Dragon Age Updater service prior to launching the game. For this, exit the game if it is already running, Open Windows main menu, select Run..., type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. In the Services window, look for Dragon Age: Origins - Updater service. Right-click on this service and select Start in the contextual menu. Once the service has started, close the Services window, relaunch the game and repeat the above steps.

You may also find useful information about the Dragon Age Updater service here.
