This thread can't end well. Personally I have no comment on the "war", but I am a fan of all the characters in varying degrees. Tali is near the top but the character wars between Tali haters/lovers is getting ridiculous.

The issue is generally ridiculous when you break it down into exactly what the flame wars are about: Some people prefer a digital representation of a fictional being over others.

True, but at least it's not a "OMG, Tali is teh worst blah blah blah I HATE HER! SHE STINKS 'CAUSE SHE CAN'T SHOWER!" or a "SHUT UP, TALI IS THE BESTEST!  DEM HIPZ!!!!111!!!1!1one!"

The arguing back and forth between the two camps is just insane, and it's everywhere.  As much as I like Tali, I'm sick of the bickering.  Ah well, this is my last post on the topic, as I'm fully aware that it's useless to try to convice anyone of anything on the internet.

I support Tali in every positive way. She is my fav character. I DO NOT SUPPORT HER FANS. Im almost ashamed that Tali is my fav character ,because of her fans. Love/Hate.

never mind then.  I was talking about the Tali fn thread that plagued this forum until people complained and it got moved to the characters forum (where people then proceded to complain until itgot locked for going off topic).  

To be honest, that seems a little overboard...that just seems spiteful to complain about a thread you don't even post in.

It is not an issue with the character at all (add me to the "I think Tali is boring" crowd). I think you will find that most "haters" are apathetic about the actual character. It is the fans and the threads that turn people off.

I like Tali as a character and a squadmate (though not as a LI), but couldn't quite understand what some of the fan obsession was all about. The Talimancers were often annoying, and sometimes downright creepy.

Frankly, I think both sides are pretty annoying.  I like Tali, but her fans are some of the creepiest and most off-putting I've ever met. Definitely the most off-putting of all BioWare fanbases. But the Tali haters are almost as bad. They've let their distaste for the Talimancers become pure hatred for the character itself, and they've gotten just as obsessed with hating Tali as her fans have with loving her.

Both sides need to quiet down and give the rest of us some peace and quiet for a change.
