Who thinks Kaiden/Ash are not dead (did you see the body?), and will be indoctrinated in ME3?

On the second thought...

That took a while to chat with Saren back there... So it might be actually a neat solution for the Main Antagonist problem... If done right, and oh, pretty please, Jesus, without plot holes!..

Yet, answering the topic's title, NO. Just like TIM says, an indoctrinated person is not a human being. It's a Reaper host. So Kaidan is dead.

Just adding a little oil to the almost dead camp fire.

I just saw again the Dirty Dozen Trailer. And the podsa pparently just leviated automatically towards the collector base... so ASh being the first one stunged, and so close to the vessel....

yeah prolly we are in for another heartbreak(at least me) in ME3.... I'll be shedding tears as I pump Ash's body full of tungsten slugs.

That person is dead.

They were sitting on the Nuke.

And if not, they were in a tower, pinned down, only 100 meters away.

They didnt make it.

Ya know... Legion went to Virmire in search of Shepard... what if Legion somehow saved or salvaged Ash/Kaiden. Yes I do realize there are some plotholes to this, but hey food for thought and for the forums right?

It's obvious that whoever survives Virmire will become the Shepard to Shepard's Saren, no need for the other to miraculously survive.

Unless they felt like tracking the remains of burnt organic matter in a nuclear wasteland, not much. I'd also prefer if the person stayed dead. I like both of them, though Kaidan unfortunately kicked it because Ash is my LI, still loyal. I'd hate to see Kaidan show up, transformed into a husk or similar. Killing him would hurt a lot.

Id hate that too.
Its one thing to see a character go, its another to kill the character yourself.

Weird thing is that if i chose to go back to nuke site (that big gas tank at the end of the landing zone is pretty handy when comes to kick Saren off that hover board) STG  is stil able to reach Normady before blast  but no squaddie i assigned to them:huh:.

Moreover there is cut scene for Ash/Kaidan wih the nuke which leaves no room for doubts that nuke defender didn't have a slightest chance to survive...  but no cut scene at all when comes to AA tower... and since Rana managed somehow to escape... it is very, very dim chance that whoever was at AA tower might survived as well.:innocent:

You say impossible... when i saw Shiala on Illium i start to question myself (despite her words) if Thorian IS really dead :o.. and that's mean that in ME 3 could be hidden couple surprises .

My bet is whoever you left behind died. After 2 and a half years, don't you think someone would find out that either Kaidan or Ashley is alive?

It's next to impossible to escape a nuclear blast that can span an entire city on foot. I even doubt Rana escaped on foot. Even if there was "plenty of time", this is a nuclear bomb we're talking about after all. Posted ImagePosted Image

Unless there was lead lined fridge (a la Indianna Jones IV) I'd say it's safe to say they are a goner!

Rana said she escaped in a utility pod... w/e that is

We dont know. Literally, there is no way to contact, anyone off planet, and nobody needs to go back to check a big burned out glass sphere left by the nuke.... so who knows. who knows, Maybe Kaiden/Ash is surviving off cocunuts or bananas, because they have no way of contacting anyone off planet :P

Although my money is 80 bucks, the dude/dudette left behind died, 20 bucks that they are alive.

Okay, there is indeed a chance Duncan could have lived in DA, but the person who drew the short-straw on Vermire? I don't think so.

I think that if tv and movie horror/thrillers have taught us anything, it is that without a body, the return of a "dead" character is not a question of "if... But rather "when"?

Of course there was no body seen. Ash/Kaiden was at ground zero for a nuclear blast. There was no body to be seen.

How would Ash/Kaiden outrun a nuclear blast? That would be incredibly lame storytelling if either one 'respawns' after Virmire. They should be permanently dead. Thankfully, I think I remember one of the devs confirming awhile back that whoever you left on Virmire is dead, and permanently so.

I like that thought, or even other Spectres been tasked with hunting you down since you could become alarmingly like Saren by allying yourself with 'undesirable elements.'

No body, no death?

There's no body because it was at the center of a GIANT FRICKIN' NUCLEAR EXPLOSION!  There wouldn't even be ash. :pinched:

...No pun intended.

Methinks the OP misunderstood the entire point of the Virmire choice. Just to punctuate my opinion with the proper amount of fakey percentages, I'm 120% sure it won't happen. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png[/smilie]

I think they'll come back as a clone, with their mind indoctrinated. They'll probably use fake & stupid science mumbo-jumbo to explain it, such as:

1. Got ahold of their DNA and had a record of their brainwaves

2. Its a different type of nuke that can't affect certain elements, like that of the structure the person who isn't near the bomb may be inside (that would obviously only apply partially though)

3. The geth used some sort of Halo-esque bubble shield which protected them and the squadmate from the blast, and they captured them

4. They were killed by gunfire, their corpse was taken during the geth's escape, and brought back to life later with their uber-advanced tech (even though they'd more likely husk-ify it)

Its total bs, but I'm sure Bioware could make it believable
