Who thinks Kaiden/Ash are not dead (did you see the body?), and will be indoctrinated in ME3?

Although if this conspiracy turns out to be true... I don't even know what I would do, lol

I think they'll come back as a clone, with their mind indoctrinated. They'll probably use fake & stupid science mumbo-jumbo to explain it, such as:
1. Got ahold of their DNA and had a record of their brainwaves
2. Its a different type of nuke that can't affect certain elements, like that of the structure the person who isn't near the bomb may be inside (that would obviously only apply partially though)
3. The geth used some sort of Halo-esque bubble shield which protected them and the squadmate from the blast, and they captured them
4. They were killed by gunfire, their corpse was taken during the geth's escape, and brought back to life later with their uber-advanced tech (even though they'd more likely husk-ify it)
Its total bs, but I'm sure Bioware could make it believable
I forgot another common one, where the nuclear blast knocks their conciousness into some sort of electrical field and it merges with a geth dropship AI.

we dont know. lol maybe kai/ash escaped in another pod too... and crashed landed just on another part of virmire.... with no way to communicate with the outside galaxy, she/he lives "happily" ever after eating bananas, and coconuts

All this seconds before the bomb goes off. Watch the cutscene again and again, I understand your hope, and I hate to crush it but (SLAP) snap out of it

The only thing I wonder about is how the asari scientist escaped. Maybe she found a ship somewhere.
Bet she'll be back in ME3

in my opinion, they're gone. There's nothing left of them. The explosion could be seen from Orbit.

well, Zaeed did say Shep's decision to let her go, again, will bite him/her in the ass
so who knows...

Reminds me of Indiana Jones escaping a nuke by hiding in a fridge. Oh wait...I wish that didn't happen...I wish that movie was never made.

Her line is "Had to outrun a nuke in a utility pod...". Outrun. I.e., she didn't hide in some little box in the corner of the lab or something. She had a small vehicle of some sort.

what hope?
lol I merely stated my great dream of never finding the "nuked" teammate.
he remains MIA.... I like to think he/she remained in virmire eating bananas to survive.
DO I want to meet em?....well since they both turn out to be ****s in ME2..... if I meet the "survivor" there is a very big chance, I would just kill him/her on the spot. Either one is blind so doesn't matter.
I actually rather have that chance... let em survive, so I can blast em out an airlock, it will be most satisfying.

It's obvious that whoever survives Virmire will become the Shepard to Shepard's Saren, no need for the other to miraculously survive.
Now that's a SCARY thought. Esp. if they are your LI.

Of course there was no body seen. Ash/Kaiden was at ground zero for a nuclear blast. There was no body to be seen.
How would Ash/Kaiden outrun a nuclear blast? That would be incredibly lame storytelling if either one 'respawns' after Virmire. They should be permanently dead. Thankfully, I think I remember one of the devs confirming awhile back that whoever you left on Virmire is dead, and permanently so.
Well... devs says many things in the past in regard of Mass Effect series which at the end turned on as nothing more as PR talk (for example that choices made in ME 1 will have big impact on ME 2...<_<).
But i agree that sudden bringing back from dead whoever was left on Virmire would be pretty lame move... but in perspective of VO costs this "nuke-necromancy" seems rather logical since both VO actors are still in team.

I'm not sure how paying two people to record extra 'indoctrinated lines' (since either could be the Virmire'd one) would be cheaper than hiring a single different actor to read the lines as a different character. It doesn't seem like a money-saving solution to me, since I think VAs charge by the line.Asheer_Khan wrote...

The timeline of the video is shorter if you save the squadmate at the tower... but again, the time from the activation of the bomb to its detonation should be identical. We know they show a shot of the squadmate against the bomb shooting just before a clip of the explosion... but we have no proof that it is real time given that the alternate scenario takes longer. Also, other videos in the game are not cut scene to scene in real time. So why this one?
It will be lame, but the squadmates will be back in ME3.The fact that so many people are resistnt to this idea makes it a perfect plot twist. No one will see it coming.

Saren left before Shepard did. Why would you wonder how he escaped?
Kaidan or Ash were pinned down someplace or sitting ON the bomb. They weren't mobile or trying to escape. They were holding ground.
I don't know why you would think the video wasn't in real time. The urgency of it and the the way it was edited all suggest that the last few seconds of the Normandy's escape and such were all happening as they happened.
As much as I love both Kaidan and Ashley I think I'd be kind of disappointed if they were still alive. It would be kind of a cheap plot device, though I'm not sure the writers are above that.

Just really expensive.
Plus I'm not so sure you could actually recover a "body" or even skin cells or DNA from a nuclear blast.
