Who thinks Kaiden/Ash are not dead (did you see the body?), and will be indoctrinated in ME3?

See. Look what the picture's doing to you, jlb! You must relinquish it! It's flooding your brain with narcotics! Can you hear me?!

Shepard was frozen, burned, and found dead on Alchera;  BioWare found a way to explain that, I'm sure they could come up with something for a resurrected PLOV.

Might not be the best plot device though, depending on how it's executed.

Drugs are bad.

Doubt it.. if s/he was alive then someone would know it.. And bringing him/her back just like that would be simply cheap.. really, really cheap..

I thought I remembered one of the devs saying whoever gets left behind on Virmire is permanently dead. And thank God for that, because besides being extremely poor storytelling, bringing that character back would also kill suspension of disbelief and cheapen the toughest choice Shepard has been faced with so far.

The death of Ash/Kaiden on Virmire was suppose to be a significant decision,if Ash/Kaiden come back in ME3,it would make the decision on Virmire pointless. I was under the impression you could only save one of the 2 because the events are happening simultaneously. Ash/Kaiden decides to activate the nuke while you are saving the other. If Ash/Kaiden decided to wait or try to escape the Geth would have deactivated the nuke ,saving Saren's base.

No, they activate it before the choice is even made, and make it so there'd be no time for even 'leet HaX0rz like the geth to do a damn thing about it.  They just have no hope of fighting off all the geth that get dropped there without some help. If you go back, they're already wounded and unable to walk on their own, that being the immediate reason they could never make it out.  And, that's also what you see in the cutscene if you leave them: they're slumped against the bomb and only have one usable arm.

ZOMG THIS MAKES SENSE

It's like in ME2 when zaeed got taken away by the seeker swarms! i didn't see his body so he's still alive!

Dumb idea is dumb
The base blows up.

If someone is carried away it doesn't matter whether or not they survived.
But we didn't see their fear on their face JUST BEFORE the base blew so YOU DON'T KNOW that they're dead.  I mean they could have escaped!..../sarcasm.
She had a head start.
Saren didn't.
Neither did Shepard.  Saren had about as much time as Shepard to get away from the bomb.

EDIT:  Also, I thought the Salarian team that ended up on your ship was NOT the Salarian team that Kaidan or Ashley was with.  There were three teams remember.  I could have sworn that the team Ash or Kaidan was with was obliterated and this was a different one.

Nope.  They went with Kirrahe. He specifically says "I need one of your men to accompany me."    Disable the geth stuff on your way in, and Kirrahe makes it back.  So, he had to be on the AA tower with the one left behind.   That and you can hear the person constantly talking about stuff happening to Kirrahe during the assault.

you know what, I am ending this arguement before someone gets needlessly banhammered with a quote from John Cleese, with minor changes to suit the situation:

"This Soldier is no more! 'E's has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet their maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'E' rests in peace! If you hadn't nuked em into the ground, 'E'd be pushing up the daisies!Their Metabolic processes are history!' E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-SOLDIER!!!!"

Ive been wondering if their gonna bring somebody back for ME3, I was thinking maybe Wrex for the people who shot him or maybe Saren somehow, but I would love to see a zombie Ash or Kaiden.

Even if they did survive Virmire who indoctrinated them? Certainly not sovereign as he is too busy blowing up. Same goes for Saren.

The Collector base was destroyed as well so even if he/she were there then they would be killed. Again. And the Collectors were almost certainly the last Reaper agents.

No I think it's safe to say that they are dead.

Uh, having seen that scene multiple times, I don't think Kirahe said anything like "I need one of your men to be physically on *MY* team." After all, Ashley or Kaidan were with one of the other two STG teams (i.e. Key word: Kirahee squad is divided into three *SEPARATE* teams), and Ashley/Kaidan's team just happened to be in the tower. Kirahee's team just ended up being elsewhere on the base that is not swarming with security. One thing also to be noted is that Kirrahe can be saved regardless of you evacuating the nuke-assigned squadmate as long as you did sabotage the geth stuff.

This is what I thought.  I was pretty certain that Kaidan/Ash weren't on the team that ended up on the Normandy, no matter what.  Because their team was pinned down and the Normandy couldn't get to them because it  was too hot.  And they perished in the bomb.

Yes. BioWare devs have stated that they are dead multiple times.

In fact, EVERYONE that you kill in ME1 will remain permanently dead. Kaidan/Ash, Wrex, Kirrahe, Fist... the list goes on.

OK, I've checked the dialogue.  They start out with him, but then he puts them in charge of Aegohr.  Depending on what you do or don't do to help them, they can end up back with him, or in charge of what's left of all three teams.  But that's all irrelevant, as it turns out:

sitting on a nuke usually kills people.
Although if this conspiracy turns out to be true... I don't even know what I would do, lol

Try it again, take them back to virmire, tie them to the nuke this time, and kick it out of the normandy.

People who loved Ashley/Kaiden will be happy if they show up and if they could be saved. And on the other hand, the people who hated Ashley/Kaiden will be more than just happy to kill them.
