Am I the only one who seems to think that the DLC is too expensive? I'm talking about Kasumi and Overlord. Both of them cost almot 5 euro which is roughly 1/6 of the price that I paid for the game itself.. And I'm assuming that their not even that long.. probably just a hour or 2 max.

I would love to get that DLC, but it seems to be way too expensive considering what you get with it.. :s

I know that no one is forcing me to buy it, but I just felt like posting about it.. :s

Personally I think it's a little pricey but I'm not going to complain. I've spent more on fastfood and never really complained.

I think the argument is useless because I don't just play the DLC once, just as much as I don't play a game that I paid 60$ just once.

If anything, the DLC like Kasumi and Overlord are less than the cost of going to the Movie Theatres, and they entertain me for a great deal longer.

Next time you're eating out, look at how much you spend on simple things like food or beverages, or if you're older, a pack of cigarettes or a 6 pack of beer, or that cheap bottle of wine.

No, I don't think the DLC is that expensive at all

It's the highest price they felt they could get away with, knowing people would think, "Oh, it's only $7..."

Considering the amount of fun I'm getting out of them I think they're well worth the price. That being said, I passed on the one with the new outfits (as well as the feastday gift one for DA:O) because they didn't appeal to me. That's the beauty of DLC: If you aren't interested, just don't buy it.

It's not only that, but that the DLC pricing scheme, unbeknownst to a seemingly great amount of posters here, has already been laid in the ground, long before ME2 was released.   General story DLC is released for between 560-800 MS Points, that's just the way it's been. I'm surprised that the DAO DLC has been so cheap.
And if you want to argue about the weapon and armor packs, putting everything into perspective, it's quite literally pocket change.
There's a point where when you price something too low, people will begin to value it less

Honestly, the way I play this game I think that the DLC has far made its price. As the mod said (dont want to type his name cause wow thats a hard name to remember) look at a movie. 10 bucks for 2 hrs entertainment. the DLCs are about the same length and I play them way more then once. Nah they are worth it. Plus Bioware deserves money for a great product, they are a company

No, I don't think DLC is too expensive. However, my opinion might be somewhat... skewed.

So how long is the Kasumi/Overlord DLC? Just curious.. also, regarding Kasumi. Does she replace one of your squad members or does she simply add to the team?

Anyway, the whole movie theater, food, etc argument is some... so~so..   One of those DLC's would cost me $5. If I had to put that into beer.. that would be 10 cans of beer or one movie ticket (which I don't go to anyway) or two or three burgers depending on the prize. The probably obvious choice would be beer... So Kasumi/Overlord would cost me 20 cans of beer..  or 10L of beer depending how you want to put it.

And I don't buy any of those things so often so the money would be better spent on food then DLC. Heck, I could survive for a week with this money... (X_X);

Replay value isn't really a argument for me because its optional.. One person might want to replay it while another wouldn't.

"laid in the ground" only applies when the arguent is for downward pricing movement... not when it applies upward..

just saying

Overlord took me about 2.5 hours, but that's because I like exploring every niche and taking my tame and really tasting everything that's given to me.
And I've played Overlord more than once, if you play it, you'll understand why.

Anyway, the whole movie theater, food, etc argument is some... so~so..   One of those DLC's would cost me $5. I want to cry at the prospect of wasting money on bad beer  :crying:

If you're an adult and out in the world at your various jobs, and you happen to be like me, where I don't go out and buy 5 games a year, but rather at most, 2 games a year, and if I happen to like a game, then I don't mind spending a little extra money on it.

Also no one says you have to buy the DLC when it comes out, so that can also save you money. I just bought Awakenings on XBOX LIVE for 1600 points, that's half the price of what it was, simply because I waited for the opportune moment.

As for surviving a week on 14 dollars, I applaud you, but do not believe you. If I give you an absolutely bare kitchen, and 14 dollars, you'll be hard pressed to fit anything nice into your budget on 14 alone, but hey, maybe you like PB & J's that much

What other argument would you make for 'too expensive' then? What other criteria would you use? Clothing? Other games? Sure, I could waste $7 on an iPhone game. Not much else as far as gaming goes. I could use it to buy lunch. Once.

Of course replay value is a valid argument - there is a huge difference between something you *choose* not to replay and something you *can't* replay.

All it really comes down is is personal choice. If you feel it's too expensive, don't buy it. I feel that it's well worth the time and money. Perhaps I just have more money to waste than you do, but that's my choice. It's a fun one. :D

The only DLC i feel it's not worth the price so far is Equalizer and Alternate appearance packs (maybe if they were packed together). Overlord and Kasumi are worth the money.

In proportion to the main game (60 bucks for lets say 35 hours), 7 bucks for 1.5, maybe 2 hours at best is rather pricey. But they could have made it ten, so I won't complain much.

Its not that bad.. besides that, I'm a student, I don't have that much money to spend in the first place.

Well, I'm usually against paid DLC, simlpy because I dislike the idea of paying for something that I can't even touch.. a stupid idea, I know and I know that those people deserve the money for the work they put into this DLC but still..

Anyway, I wouldn't have a problem with paying for DLC if its good and Kasumi/Overlord look good, but I still consider them to be a little too expensive for my taste.

About survining a week with only $14.  Its possible, but no one said that it feels so great.. :]

But we probably have to consider the value of the money and the price of things. Some things in my Country might be cheaper then in yours or the other way around..

Here's how I look at it... I buy the DLC I like, and don't buy what I don't like. Most of the DLC so far has been pretty cheap IMO.

I haven't gotten the weapons pack DLC yet because I'm saving my remaining points for the Liara DLC, but if I have enough leftover afterwards, then I'm going to get that as well.

Besides, I'm gonna buy the PS3 Version as soon as that comes out, so I'll likely even be getting the stuff I never bothered to buy in the 360 Version.

When you buy them for two platforms, the 160 point difference does become considerable, really you aren't paying $7 for the DLC you are paying $14 because you are purchasing for two platforms.

And yes, I have been called cheap for saying this.

I think the practically all the dlc armor pieces and weapons could have been in one pack for the same price, or even free.

However the mission dlc are fairly reasonable.

Its overpriced, but most people buy it anyway. I was to write you should wait until some Deal of the Week, but I am not sure BioWare does stuff like that on PC.

Makes no sense to me. Then again, some people on this forum actually plan to buy the game thrice.

I've always played the game on the 360, and I downloaded the demo for the PC and I liked it, especially the play control, it was almost like playing an entirely new game.  So I saw a discount on Steam and bought both ME1 and ME2.

It stinks having to download all the DLC again for it, but it's the choice I made buying for two platforms and I have to live with it.

Really I am not complaining about buying the DLC again, just it would be nice not to have to pay for DLC I've already bought for another platform.  But that's how the corporate world goes.

The problems with DLC is this: game prices vary strongly from country to country and in the UK games are generally cheaper I think. Also the prices drop really fast. I only picked up ME2 now and only paid around 15£ at Amazon.uk - so 560 MS points for either one of those DLCs is way to much money compared to what the game costs now. DLC prices are always based on the "a game costs 60 bucks" mentality and price drops for the retail games aren't accounted for. This is a big flaw in the industry (as are DLCs in general in my opinion) and while a game like ME2 is def. worth the initial price I still have a problem with buying 2 DLCs for 10£ when the whole game only did cost me 15£.

That's odd... All of the DLC I have says it works for both PC & Xbox 360, and although I'm playing the 360 Version, it gives me an option on my "Your Registered Game Promotions" screen to download all of that DLC a 2nd time to my PC for use with the PC Version.
