My god! Was playing my Soldier Shepard last night, and it was time to clear Horizon. A fully powered GPS shot under Heightened AR would take the Praetorian down to half barrier from full! With it only taking two He AR powered GPS shots to remove the beast's whole barrier, I didn't even care the couple times I got too close and it used it's Death Choir attack to refill them. No heavy weapons, and even the mistakes of letting it refill a couple times, and it was still the quickest Praetorian fight ever.
For the whole picture, this was on Insanity but not yet NG+. My Soldier was level 13 with He AR, Inferno Ammo, rank 2 passive, and 1pt wonder Neural Shock (was great for killing Husks btw; shoot , shock, repeat). Shepard was weaing the Kuwashii Visor, Stimulator Conduits, and the other three pieces all being Kestrel. I had most of the upgrades possible at this point, including 2/5 shotgun damage, shotgun shield piercing, 3/6 tech damage, and tech cooldown reduction.
GPS + He AR = Heavy Weapon

Yeah it's gotten to the point where I barely use heavy weapons on my soldier once my regular weapons are significantly upgraded. Mattock + GPS (for burst damage and shield/barrier stripping) are better than pretty much any heavy weapon other than the Cain (which is more like a one time "skip fight" button so it doesn't count).

It feels like heavy weapon even without Adrenaline Rush. One shotting defenses from mid range with no problems. Seriously overpowered gun.

Glad I didn't buy the firepower pack yet. Seems to turn Insanity mode into normal.

It opens options to play a little more aggressive because you can take care of guys that rush you easier with the new shotgun or mattock.
