I've noticed threads continue to crop up regarding Loghain's actions in DA:O and whether he should be perceived as a hero or a villain, or somewhere in between, but I don't really see anyone discussing what he might do as a Grey Warden in Orlais. Sending Loghain to the Orlesian Empire, even as a Grey Warden, is probably going to stir some controversy in Orlais. He is tied to Ferelden independence, so there's likely to be a lot of resentment from people who lost power because of the rebellion, but Leliana said some Orlesians admired Maric for being the "rebel prince" going against a greater force, and I'd assume those same people view Loghain in a similiar fashion.  Regardless of what side you see him on, Loghain changed Ferelden forever. It does make me wonder if he'd have a similiar impact in Orlais as a Grey Warden, especially given the current situation with the chevaliers and their privledges with the lower class.

I don't think he has the power to change Orlais - he's just a warden recruiter there. It might show him that your regular Orlesian commoner is a human being and go some way to breaking down his prejudices (however, the nobility and chevaliers are still pretty corrupt so I'm not sure he'd ever feel good about being in Orlais, to be honest).

As much resentment as there is between the two factions, I think it'll be a case of where one is waiting for the other side to make the first move. Both Loghain and Celene have political clout, and the deaths of either will have significant impact on the Ferelden-Orlais relationship.

True, it might give him a different perspective about Orlesians, but I'm also wondering if he's simply stand by, especially in the face of what the Orlesian people face at the hands of the chevaliers. I don't think he'd intentionally try to change Orlais, but he is a popular figure among Fereldens because he helped them break free from Orlais, and Leliana mentions that some Orlesians admired the fight against the chevaliers. I can imagine that there's some unrest because of the privileges the chevaliers have with commoners.

I certainly think it could cause a dichotomy within Orlais.
