What i find hilarious beyond all belief is that Dragon Age is Mature rated correct? Meaning, to purchase the game you MUST be 17 or older. In the US, 17 is more or less considered an adult, and in some states IS considered an adult. That's what bothers me.  When the ratings are ignored by parents (who don't bother to monitor what they're buying their children), it becomes everyone else's fault if their children play a game (or watch a movie, etc.) that isn't appropriate for them.  By all means, developers should make whatever game they want to make but I find the idea that they should design content around a consumer base that the rating clearly dictates the game was not intended for annoying.

Thing is parents are not the only ones responsible for you. The whole society is. That's why we have laws and cops and not just parents.

I am responsible for me...and if I'm not society can punish me.  We have laws because, sadly, not everyone is responsible.  As a member of society, I object to the idea that I am responsible for other people's children.  I am responsible for ensuring that I do that nothing to harm them but I'm hardly in a position to influence or monitor their lifestyle.  I don't think the whole "It takes a village..." thing is meant to be taken literally.

Anyway, I think it is ridiculus.. Underwear doesn't take away immersion for me. In fact I couldn't care less about the sex scenes in some rendered pixels after the initiation of the scene, kinda like "ok I'm having sex now, great.. I scored the artificial girl.. lets get on with the game"

I despise children and were it up to me I wouldn't have any. Wifey however seems to love the little parasites and I really don't want to get into it with her. Personally, I think Mass Effect 1 had the best romance scenes. It had tastefully done nudity with the naughty bits covered and pretty much conveyed the romantic feeling in the scene.

Mass Effect 2's sex scenes were alright and at least (though the location of the Shepard and Miranda romance scene was at a poor location making it more like a porno flick) but cut off to a black screen before any actual nudity was shown. It could've been better but I wasn't suprised at the quality of it.

Dragon Age: Origins' sex scene was crappiest of the sex scenes of the 3 games. It switched to different points of the sex scene, which I found to be fairly good, but the fact that your character is a emotionless husk visually throughout the game and appears that way somewhat duirng the sex scene makes it feel more tasteless in my opinion. Not to mention that you see the characters in their under garments through out the scene makes it feel more cheap and crappy.

Well, there won't be a toolset for Dragon Age 2, and frankly, I think the "better sex scenes" could have been done more tastefully...

Or go nude, but having them bump and grind in their underpants was just pitiful and hilarious at the same time. The most glaringly awkward, immersion-shattering facepalm moment in the entire game.



Earlier in the thread someone said that nude mods would be the first made... hate to smash your dreams, but I think Bioware declared DA2 wouldn't be modifiable .

Ah a nudity mod.  Those do improve the quality of the scene but that generally raises the rating of the game to be higher than it's supposed to be had Bioware done that themselves.  I don't expect Bioware to make their sex scenes have that much nudity or they'd have to raise the rating.  I expect a more Mass Effect 1 type sex scene at the best or Mass Effect 2 type sex scene where we change scenes before we see anything really naughty.

Aren't there like 3 options for them? Mild, hot,  and zesty I think. Did you really find all of them tasteless? I use zesty and haven't seen anything I would consider in poor tastes.

I haven't seen all of them, and really haven't tried the mod out much, but from what I've heard...It's pretty bad.
